The worldwide press has not been kind to Mitt Romney upon his return from Europe. Romney's overseas show and tell has erupted into something of a debacle for his campaign. I'm not one to thrive on schadenfreude so I don't sit back and laugh at his expense. Nor do I grin about his shortcomings while abroad because at the end of the day, he is still a face of our country. As he travels overseas he represents America, for better or for worse.
His foibles and demeanor simply further represent the fact he hasn't the heart, grace, compassion, or tact to be President. The same faults he carries Stateside were amplified overseas. I happened to be traveling out of the country while Romney was on his European tour. Many folks I met stated their interest in our upcoming election and voiced concern for not who Mitt Romney is, rather what he represents. Hubris seems to be a common theme.
My mother is active in Democrats Abroad in Germany, where she lives much of the year. Candidates often campaign in countries where there are U.S. interests or a large population of expatriate voters. It is a common campaign strategy to appeal to voters abroad while engendering confidence in foreign populates, but this strategy does not usurp activities at home. The American people come first; our jobs, education, health, and well being take priority.
I hope to see less time dedicated to overseas campaigning this year. There is so much discord at home right now that our leaders owe it to us to demonstrate how they will bridge that divide. The strife at home is getting dangerously heated. Who is going to finally step in and shift our paradigm so this election is focused on compromise and working in harmony instead of battling to win? Wow, now *that's* a foreign concept!

Mitt Romney is not fit to be president?
A successful businessman and governor who ran the Olympics compared to a "community organizer"? LOL Iliana, you are hilarious.
Jessica-My comment was in response to the blog that wrote Romney showed he didn't have the grace to be President. I asked how he did that, and gave examples of how our current President has shown no grace. My point was that none of this really matter's, not the birth certificate (which I think the President should release but wont) and not the tax returns (although I also think Romney should release those) what matter's is who has a plan to fix this country. What I am saying is both men have question's about their pasts that we would like answer's too, they are both hiding something, but since a politician will be politician we should move past it and talk about who will fix our country. To respond further the Olympics have not run smoothly, they are having huge problems filling seats. I guess what you lefty' aren't getting is most of us on the right see what is going on for what it really is. This election will not be about the democrat running against the republican, its about progressive and progressive lite. If Mitt Romney wont tow our line we will make him a one term president. Your president has had big gaffe's all over the place and your side likes to ignore that. My points were valid but your probably too busy drinking the kool aid to realize it.
I'm going to ignore your foolish kool aid sipping comments, Jessica, and just leave you with this article from the CBO via CNN. Since CNN is basically the liberal version of FOX news (or would that be NBC?), you should have no problem eating this up.

But, by an objective definition, those who are "in the tank" for a particular party, bias everything to that end, and refuse to cover certain stories and certain viewpoints are the ones who are in reality, "biased".
Also Jessica-So cute how you went back to the blame George Bush thing too! You are so original and I love how you do math. It is so amazing how you concentrate on Bush's number's from THREE YEARS AGO and ignore the statics of today. The longest running unemployment rate in our history. The fact that your president tripled the deficit (you know the one your upset that Bush brought up.) Guess what I didn't like Bush's stimulus either. I hated that he surrounded himself by big government progressives his second term. The difference is I am not a sheep blindly following my candidate. Another question I have for you is do you know why Barak Obama's publishing house said he was born in Kenya at every event they did. I guess that was just another mistake he is allowed to make as a human being. Too bad only those on the left are treated as human being's.
