"Why are you here supporting Chick-fil-A?" A woman asked people this question at a Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day event. The result is this video. As you can see from her commentary she was not impressed with most of the responses. She goes as far as calling the protesters "rednecks." And that's too bad. "This video was not intended as hard-hitting journalism. It was just something funny for my friends..."
She admits she shouldn't have resorted to name calling and should have just let people's comments speak for themselves. I agree. I found a lot of the supporters' own words disturbing enough on their own. But then -- I can also see how another person might watch this video and pretty much agree with the whole thing. Check out the video and see what you think. It's a little hard to hear at times so it might be helpful to turn on the captions.
Okay, wow. That one about the Constitution is a doozy. I would like to personally invite every person with strong opinions about our Constitution to actually find a copy and read it in its entirety. You may be surprised to find out what's not there!
As for whether or not Jesus had anything to say about same-sex marriage, I'll leave it up to the Bible scholars. Thousands of books have been written about what the Bible actually says, what the cultural context was, what the modern-day implications are... we'll never get everyone to agree.
But are these people really ignorant and stupid? I have to admit, I'm kind of shaking my head over the weak reasoning skills, paranoia, and false "facts" coming from some of these supporters. I still think it's wrong to call them names. But it's a test of my compassion to witness and forgive.
What do you think about the reasons these people give for supporting Chick-fil-A and opposing same-sex marriage?

I agree that chic-fil-a has every right to beleive whatever they want and the woman who made this video just shows how intolerant she is of other peoples opinions. I support gay marriage, and with their millions going to anti-gay rights groups that are hell bent on taking away the rights of others, I refuse to help support those groups by eating at chic-fil-a. So, I dont have a problem with chic-fil-a's opinion, just the fact that they are actually trying to hinder others rights based on their beleifs. Seperation of church and state anyone?
I think at the end of the day its the same as every other "touchy" subject---to each their own. Why pick on these people? Same could be said for the westboro baptist church folks & the way they raise their children or the things they make up about the bible. Why are we not protesting churches? They are closed on Sundays and most of them don't support same sex marriage? Nobody is going to shut down a billion dollar industry simply because they don't like their personal viewpoints...if you don't like it-don't eat it dum dums!
@ghostbaby
Its not having that opinion that pisses people off. Its the trying to hinder the rights of others. If these groups only supported the "traditional marriage" it would be fine, but no, these groups try to influence our government into forcing gay couples to live by their opinion. Having an opinion is one thing, but forcing others to conform to your lifestyle? That crosses the line.

Maybe a long time ago, marriage was a religious thing but nowadays, you can be an atheist and still get married. Religion can be seperate from marriage at this point in time, and everyone has their own views on what marriage is. I beleive that its a union between two consenting adults that want to be together for the rest of their lives. Religion doesnt need to have anything to do with it.
The woman who said homosexual marriage becoming legal would destroy the world really takes the cake. Have you seen this billboard advertisements and commercials showing men and women being sexually provocative together? It makes me sick that society thinks it's okay for half naked men and women to bump and grind each other where children can see them and that has nothing to do with honosexuality! I'm a heterosexual women who believes everyone has a right to love who they want to love, but no matter what your sexual preferences are, we need to keep it PG for our children's sake. Why do people think our kids are becoming sexually active at such young ages?
I thought it was hilarious how not one of those people could articulate a single valid point in a meaningful way. They all sounded like complete idiots.
