I don't know about you, but I love a good underdog story. And the woman who stopped a jewelry store robbery in LA was your classic underdog. The 65-year-old store owner was up against five men, and she managed to scare them all so badly they ended up running straight out of the store!
All it took? Two warning shots fired from granny's gun. And as the hilarious surveillance video shows, these bunch of hooligans were practically falling all over themselves to get the heck out of there. Check it out:
Go granny, go granny, go! Apparently these guys were so freaked out that the getaway driver accidentally left some of his boys behind when he drove off. And you can see by the way she ran after them that this woman is not afraid of anything. She's mad, and she's not going to take it ... and she shouldn't have to.
I think I love how this went down most of all because these jerks walked in there thinking they were all that, and they got one heckuva lesson in humility. It takes a load of self-absorption to become a criminal and think it's OK to steal what other people have worked hard to earn. Fighting crime means taking these egomaniacs down a peg or two and making them realize they aren't special; they should have to work for a living just like the rest of us.

This robbers were just children and they probably just wanted the money to buy SKITTLES!
And I don't want to hear any "self defense" arguments, who told her she had permission to be a security guard? And I am sure if you found seven year old photos of the perps you could photo-shop them to make them look like cute kids!

This story is awesome, that LADY is awesome.
You know they aren't exactly genius material when the sign on the door said Push and they were pulling it trying to get in. But then when they all piled up against it trying to push to get out I was practically crying for laughing so hard. Hate to see someones store in a situation like this but it was still darn funny watching them run.
But... Wait. What about the "no guns allowed" sticker that's on every store window nowadays? Shouldn't those bad guys have seen that and left their gun in the car?
And Granny shouldn't have had that gun. Everyone knows that guns are bad, and that you should cower in the corner, call 911 and give the bad guys everything they want while you wait 15 minutes for the police to arrive, all the while hoping to God that they don't shoot you!
Go. Granny. THIS is why we should have an armed populace. People who own guns and are trained in their use should NOT be restricted AT ALL in carrying them anywhere. Since Aurora, I have heard more and more of these stories - robberies and other crimes being thwarted by people standing up for themselves. And good for them.
If you are 65 years old and you kicked some thug butt today, thank the second ammendment.
