See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
Every once in awhile I read a news story about some depraved subhuman and I just want to meet up with the guy. Yeah, just meet up with him. You know, for a chat. But I don't dare. Because let's just say this chat might get testy. Reeeeeal testy. Such is the case with a "person" (so called) named Yu Zhen Chen. The 25-year-old restaurant worker in Philadelphia has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty. He allegedly videotaped himself tossing, juggling, choking, pulling, and otherwise torturing four helpless kittens. I say "allegedly" but there's a VIDEO. So unless there was a lot of CGI going on, well ... looks like that's what he was doing. Which is why I'd love to chat with this subhuman amoeba.
Police were reportedly investigating an unrelated shooting at Chen's restaurant, Red Star Chinese, when they discovered the video. I hope no one got hurt in that shooting, but the shooting did lead to the discovery of the video, so I can't help being grateful something made the cops go into this guy's restaurant.
Said Richard Loos of the Pennsylvania SPCA:
The male was observed in the video pulling, tugging, choking, swinging the kittens by their tail in a very violent motion -- also throwing them, almost like he was bowling with the kittens.
And it's captured on a 10-minute video. Yeah, so the guy could watch it later? Show it to friends? Maybe he thought it would help him bag a girlfriend?
Two of the kittens, plus the mother cat, have been rescued and are recovering at the SPCA. Unfortunately, the other two kittens remain missing. The guy was charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and is out on bail.
Can I just say this disgusting creep deserves hardcore jail time -- hopefully in a jail with much larger and stronger men who might toss him around a bit. There is nothing more despicable than torturing helpless creatures who stand absolutely no chance of fighting back. And it horrifies me to know that for every person they catch torturing animals, there are many more who go undetected. This is the kind of subhuman scumbag who would never take on someone of his own size, someone who could fight back. Nope, he's got to take out his frustration with his sad life, and his cruel streak, on helpless kittens.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Animal cruelty laws need to be tougher. If the charges prove to be true, it shouldn't even be a question that this guy does jail time. Thank goodness we've finally gotten to the point in this country where we take animal cruelty seriously, but it needs to be taken even more seriously.
Do you think this guy should do jail time? I could not watch this video, and if you decide to, please be warned it is disturbing:
