Accused ‘Dark Knight’ Gunman James Holmes Shared Plans Days Before Massacre (VIDEO)

As the investigation continues into the tragic Dark Knight Rises movie massacre, police learned that accused gunman James Holmes tried to share details about his deadly plan days before.
Investigators say Holmes mailed a notebook "full of details about how he was going to kill people" to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack, but the package sat unopened in a mail room for a week.
On Monday, police and FBI agents were called to the school after a professor, who is also a psychiatrist that treats students, alerted them that he may have received a package from the alleged killer. That package ended up being from another student, but after searching the entire mail room, they found a spiral notebook from Holmes.

“There were drawings of what he was going to do in it -- drawings and illustrations of the massacre," a source told Fox News. It showed gun-wielding stick figures shooting down other stick figures. Investigators said it had been in the mail room since July 12, nearly a week before he killed 12 people at that Aurora, Colorado theater.
It's absolutely devastating to think what could have happened if that package were detected sooner. It's a cruel and sad twist of fate. Right now, it's unclear why the notebook wasn't delivered to the psychiatrist. They also don't know if the doctor had actually treated Holmes, who had dropped out of the school's neuroscience program. But what is crystal clear to everyone is that this attack was carefully planned and monstrous beyond words.

This is sad. But I will wait until all the facts are in. Right now, I am just praying for the victims, the survivors and all the family and friends effected by this.

I hope the psychiatrist doesn't get into some kind of trouble for this.

Just another sad day in history. People should really pay attention to young adults. As you can read their were signs had anybody pay attention. I pray for those who lost family members. and they should be piss. Especially at the Movies. They should of had medal detectors to protect everyone.

Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy for people to sit NOW and look back at what happened in the days, weeks and months leading up to this massacre, and say, "they should have known", but that's not fair to family, friends, doctors, etc. Honestly, if someone told you, "I'm gonna shoot that place up one day," would you believe that person? Or would you chuckle and say, "yeah, don't exaggerate," or "riiight. You're so dramatic," or something similar. People do it all the time. "If you do that, I'll kill you!!"
What are the odds that person is forewarning you? One in a million? Even if he is troubled?
I don't know how detailed the book was. Perhaps this doctor would have interpreted it correctly, had he received it on time, and perhaps he would have turned it over to authorities. But it's also a possibility that he'd have thought it was a journal of a former patient, and not followed up on it other than to place a "are you ok?" call to the sender.
the point is, we will drive ourselves crazy playing "what if?"
One thing I DO know is this... a previous poster said that the movie theatre should have had metal detectors. the guy went in through the back door. A metal detector wouldn't have stopped that.
