Chick-fil-A, the tasty and delicious fast food chain famous for its Christian values, has come under attack once again for being anti-gay. It’s no secret that the company operates with biblical influence -- heck, it even closes up shop on Sundays to observe the Sabbath.
In an interview with the Baptist Press on Monday, company President Dan Cathy reasserted the family-values culture the company tries to embody. He said:
We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.
Oh my gosh, alert the presses that there is a company that espouses family values! How dare they, as a private company, stand up for their beliefs? I mean, what has this county come to? How dare they stay married to their first wives!
Side note: Do you know who else believes that marriage is between one man and one woman? Barack Obama, circa 2011.
People need to take a chill pill. If I boycotted every restaurant, clothing line, and entertainment provider, whose political ideology I disagreed with, I’d be hungry, naked, and bored. How does one’s stance on gay marriage affect chicken sandwiches and waffle fries? It doesn’t.
Chick-fil-A has gotten some seriously undeserved feedback for simply stating that they’re supportive of traditional marriage. Who cares? What does that have to do with chicken? Are they refusing to serve people based on their sexual orientation or their stance on gay marriage? Maybe that would be a story worth reporting.
Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno is even threatening to block the restaurant chain from opening a second store in the “increasingly trendy” Northwest Side ward. Why does Mr. Moreno want to deprive his constituents of flaky biscuits? Furthermore, is he going to go around to every business in his district and ask if they support gay marriage, and shut them down if they don’t? Yeah, that’ll be good for the economy.
This whole thing is silly. This is a private company, and the personal views of Dan Cathy have nothing to do with the product they provide or the service they offer. They’re not refusing to serve anyone based on their sexual orientation, race, or gender.
Give Chick-fil-A a break, and as the cows say: “Eat Mor Chikin.”

I ate there and Mr. Cathy has a right to express his personal opinion. The first amendment is not just for popular or PC speech. Extremist on either side of an issue would love to just make anyone that does not think like them shut up.
i generally disagree strongly with Jenny but just because her opinion is not mine, I would not do what mayors and other politicians have done and threaten her ability to make a living. In America free speech should mean just that.
Furthermore, he can support whatever he wants with his money. Don't agree? Don't spend money in his establishment but leave him alone. He has a right to earn his living and do what he want to with those earnings.
His profits are his business he can support whatever he likes. Many people have their facts right they understand that no one no matter what their agenda is should be able to tell someone what to do with their earnings. I ate at CFA to support the ideals of free speech and free enterprise. If you don't agree then don't purchase their goods but he has a right to spend his money how he likes.

How does same sex marriage benefit the government and society in general? Well, it doesnt. Im not going to beat around the bush and come up with bullshit reasons why it does. In reality, no marriage(not even yours) benifits the gov or society. BUT, it benefits the people in the marraige. YOU benefit from your marriage in more ways than one. You not only get the legal benefits but also get to spend the rest of your life with the one you love.
So, I answered your question, please answer mine. People have the right to do what makes them happy. Yes? So what valid, non-religious reason does this society have for not letting same sex couples marry if it is what makes them...happy? Since there are plenty of things that the government allows its citizens to do that does not benefit the government or society in general. Like welfare. It takes away money from hard working people who actually earned it and takes it away. It doesnt stay with the government, so it really doesnt benefit them. That hard earned money, mostly, goes to people who dont feel like working, even though people who actually need it get turned down most of the time. You work at mcdonalds and cant afford to buy food for your 2 kids? Forget it, your not eligable. Quit your job and become a couch potato? Hooray, your first on the list! Does welfare benifit society? Maybe a tiny bit, but not much. So, whats the difference between same sex marriage and welfare? Same sex marriage doesnt have ANY negative repercussions.
