Barack Obama’s reelection campaign recently went after Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s stance on women’s health issues, because the candidate supports an end to federal funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one abortion provider.
Funny, what liberals call a War on Women; conservatives call a War on Fetuses.
Let me say it one more time, because I don’t think it’s getting through: No one is denying any woman over the age of eighteen birth control. Republicans just think you or your fellow should pay for it yourselves. Reminder: You can get contraceptives for as little as $9 at Target or Wal-Mart. If you can’t afford that, you can’t afford to have sex.
Now that we’ve established that Republicans are not waging a War on Women, just a War Against Forcing Other People to Pay for Your Stuff, let’s talk about how President Obama’s economy has disproportionately affected women versus their male counterparts.
American Crossroads released a video on Wednesday detailing the heartbreaking economic hardships that women in particular have suffered under President Obama.
There are now seventeen million women in poverty -- 800,000 more than when George Bush left office. Of those, 7.5 million women are in extreme poverty. Almost half of female-headed homes live in poverty, and minorities have been hit especially hard, with 25% of Hispanic women living below the poverty line.
What happened to the hope and change? Not only are more women living in poverty than four years ago; they can’t get jobs. Under Obama’s economy, men are gaining four times as many jobs as women. Forget the glass ceiling – just show us the welcome mat!
It doesn’t matter how much Democrats vote in favor of phony “fair pay acts,” when their economic policies hurt millions of women across the country. Maybe congressional liberals could put their money where their mouth is: They pay their female staffers significantly less than the males.
President Obama claims there is a War on Women … but who’s leading the charge? The White House pays men an average of $10,000, or 13 percent, more than women, by the way.

There's plenty of blame to go around everywhere.
@ Procrastamom- You want a solution? Here it is, but it's not simple: Too many people have become dependent on government support. Social programs (that's gov't giving ppl money) accounts for 40% of our national budget. The people who make money are no longer making enough to pay for the ones that aren't, which is why we've gone into debt.
On top of that, our president decided to borrow $3.8 trillion more (that's $3,800,000,000,000) to stimulate the economy, but it failed. So now, we're WAY more into debt than we were before, and just the INTEREST on our debt is $4 billion a DAY (that's $4,000,000,000 every.single.day).
So, obviously, we need people off of government dependency---> they need to find jobs ---> employers need to be hiring ---> corporations need to be thriving. This is why corporations need to stop being treated like the enemy, since one successful corporation can employ millions of people.
So it seems simple, right? Get people off of government assistance and into jobs. But here's where it gets tricky... those 150 million people getting "free" stuff? They don't want you to take away their free stuff (hence half the comments on this article). And 150 million votes is alot of votes. What do you think the chances are that those 150 million people are going to "vote away" their free stuff? Not likely. We've reached the point where the candidate who gives out the most free stuff, wins.
***It has been predicted by scholars that this is the point in which a democracy collapses, because it can't continue indefinitely going into debt.***
So, now to the solution: Try as hard as we can to get people, even the ones getting the "free stuff", to understand that we can't continue this way. As tough as it sounds for many people, we have got to stop running our country this way, and hope and pray that people will come to intellectually understand this, go out in November and vote for the madness to end. That's the solution. If you don't like, I hope you're learning Chinese.
In fact, if you have health insurance you are paying premiums for, according to the conservatives, your insurance should not be forced to pay out anything related to women's health.
