Barack Obama’s reelection campaign recently went after Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s stance on women’s health issues, because the candidate supports an end to federal funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one abortion provider.
Funny, what liberals call a War on Women; conservatives call a War on Fetuses.
Let me say it one more time, because I don’t think it’s getting through: No one is denying any woman over the age of eighteen birth control. Republicans just think you or your fellow should pay for it yourselves. Reminder: You can get contraceptives for as little as $9 at Target or Wal-Mart. If you can’t afford that, you can’t afford to have sex.
Now that we’ve established that Republicans are not waging a War on Women, just a War Against Forcing Other People to Pay for Your Stuff, let’s talk about how President Obama’s economy has disproportionately affected women versus their male counterparts.
American Crossroads released a video on Wednesday detailing the heartbreaking economic hardships that women in particular have suffered under President Obama.
There are now seventeen million women in poverty -- 800,000 more than when George Bush left office. Of those, 7.5 million women are in extreme poverty. Almost half of female-headed homes live in poverty, and minorities have been hit especially hard, with 25% of Hispanic women living below the poverty line.
What happened to the hope and change? Not only are more women living in poverty than four years ago; they can’t get jobs. Under Obama’s economy, men are gaining four times as many jobs as women. Forget the glass ceiling – just show us the welcome mat!
It doesn’t matter how much Democrats vote in favor of phony “fair pay acts,” when their economic policies hurt millions of women across the country. Maybe congressional liberals could put their money where their mouth is: They pay their female staffers significantly less than the males.
President Obama claims there is a War on Women … but who’s leading the charge? The White House pays men an average of $10,000, or 13 percent, more than women, by the way.

Ah, I can see the high-end thinkers are out of the gate early this morning, with their name calling....it's been a while since one of you used the word "retard" to demonstrate just how wrong Jenny is, and just how much you identify with the Liberal definition of a woman, who certainly can't be expected to think and communicate at an adult level - so kudos for the multi-tasking!
Liberals are the ones who repeatedly classify women as a protected group, in need of equalizing. Those of you who think that's a good thing - have you really examined what that means? If you agree, you accept that your gender makes you LESS. You agree that women can't take care of themselves, and need the saviors in Washington to rescue us from the shortcomings of our gender. It means you accept that we can't and won't succeed unless the fed props us up. It means you accept an inability to control your reproduction unless they fund it.
All of you who accept the Liberal agenda are accepting the paternal government protection - conceding you are indeed nothing more than a little girl who needs daddy to keep her in line. You might as well give up your right to vote, too, since you're intent of having the government make all your decisions anyway. Way to go, Ladies - way to go!!
And anyway, were this an actual "article" and not some BS pile of misinformation from a mombie, I might consider educating you. Sorry you're not worth the time or energy, but...

Not ALL conservatives are idiots. I disagree with the way Jenny says a lot of things, because I don't think she represents a typical Republican. I vote Republican most of the time, though I have cast my ballot the other way for the right candidate, though that was not for Obama. I believe anyone who is going to be sexually active should be on birth control if they're not trying to get pregnant. However, unless there's a medical need for it, condoms are effective, and can be gotten for free. If there's a medical need, I am all for requiring insurance or employers to cover hormonal birth control. I personally don't believe in abortions, and I don't believe that they should be used in cases where you chose to have sex, chose not to use protection and got pregnant. In cases where there is abuse, danger to the mother, a medically futile pregnancy, or where remaining pregnant could lead to more abuse, I think it should be available, and safe, and easily accessible. I think we need much better education, and that if everyone stopped fussing over whether or not abortions are legal and started working toward decreasing the need for them, everyone would be happier. WIth education, prevention, and support, the goal should be for abortions to be safe, legal, affordable, and RARE. They should never be outlawed, and neither party really is addressing this well right now.
