A Missouri newspaper recently published an opinion piece by one Jane Pitt, who just happens to have a son named Brad. You may have heard of him. Anyway, she defends Mitt Romney’s religion against all of those evangelicals that don’t like the fact that he’s a Mormon. Mrs. Pitt writes:
"Any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.
"Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."
Then the media reported on her “anti-gay” opinion piece. What, exactly, is anti-gay about that? A person can absolutely be pro-traditional marriage and have no problem with the gay community. My gay friends know I love them dearly, will absolutely stand up for them to make their own life choices, and that I’m pro-traditional marriage. Some of them agree with me on that issue and some don’t. They all respect my beliefs and opinions.
Moving beyond the gay issue, can we talk about what the letter really says? There’s a faction of evangelical Christians that do not want to support Mitt because he is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I’ll be the first to admit that Mormons have some wacky beliefs (seriously, go look up Kolob), but don’t we all have beliefs that seem wacky to “outsiders”? Try explaining eating and drinking the body and blood of Christ to someone unfamiliar with the concept of communion.
My point is that I don’t think Mitt Romney’s Mormonism should be a make-or-break issue for evangelical voters. Barack Obama has been bad news for our country, has skyrocketed our debt, and saddled the middle class with the biggest tax hike in history, aka Obamacare.
And besides, how can people complain about Mormon beliefs while accepting Obama’s religious past, which includes two decades in Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright’s church? There is nothing inherently contradictory to the Constitution in the Mormon religion. Unless you consider beer an addendum to the Bill of Rights, since Mormons don’t drink. In my opinion, that might be their wackiest belief of all.
Evangelical Christians would do well to remember that a vote Against Mitt Romney is a vote for Barack Obama. Thanks for pointing that out, Mrs. Pitt.

Hey Rightside, President Obama actually has the lowest tax rate in 30 years! http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/in-2009-americans-paid-lowest-tax-rates-in-30-years-to-federal-government/2012/07/10/gJQAWc5bbW_story.html?hpid=z6 (this is a reference from the Washington Post). And why would Obama hate America, his story is the classic American story, he came from a relatively poorer family and worked hard, got a great education and is President of the United States. Then, he inherited the worst economy in decades, unfunded (due to Republicans) wars on two fronts. Despite that, he managed to yank America away from a Depression and the economy is rebuilding, albeit, very slowly. All this while dealing with a Republican congress who's main objective over the past 3 years has been to keep him from succeeding. He also passed landmark healthcare rules and even if you don't agree with all of it, what is wrong with regulations that keep health insurance companies from dropping you for no reason or keeping you from signing up if you have a pre-existing condition? I would say he's doing pretty damned well, especially given the circumstances he was dealt. Plus, he has not been a backslider like Romney. "Obamacare" was actually modelled on Romney's Mass. healthcare plan and you know what, Massachussetts is doing pretty well in all measures.
Here's the correction you asked for billsfan:

BTW, you will be surprised to learn that "Hussein" is the president's middle name. Once again, perhaps you should "maybe get on some fact-finding".
The rest of the lies that you bleated like a mindless sheep are too stupid to be worthy of comment.
Ohhh big news, Jenny's also against gay marriage. How bout them gas prices? Come on Jenny, they were all Obama's fault, you managed to mention it in almost every post, so how bout it? Oh, I see now it's market forces bringing down the prices. Hypocrite.
Furthermore, your biographical claims about OWEbama are utterly false. His family was middle/upper middle class. He also spent a portion of his youth being raised outside of the country. His parents and grandparents were rabid anti-American communists.
The economy tanked about 6-8 months after the democrats took over Congress in 2006, and OWEbama himself voted for the vastly increased deficits in the budgets that he "inherited" from himself and the rest of the democrats.
The so-called "Recovery", more accurately called a "dead cat bounce" is for all intents and purposes flat, and is the longest period of sustained economic inactivity since the last Great Depression.
WHAT "Republican controlled Congress"? The democrats have held the Senate for six years, They held the House for four years, and the White House for four years. During part of that time they had super-majority status, and steamrolled through massive amounts of far left legislation utterly unfettered.
As for OWEbama-care, out of 2,600 pages of the bill, and 13,000 pages of new rules created by unelected bureaucrats under the bill, the "pre-existing" condition line is the only thing positive you can cite?
The letter she was responding to suggesting voting against Romney based on arbitrary religious bigotry was "Good".
But her letter suggesting voting against Obama for his stated political positions is "Bad".
Yeah, best to ignore the first letter, wouldn't want anything to get in the way of a good liberal hate frenzy...
