Which Female Politician Is Pretty Enough to Run for VP Beside Mitt Romney? (PHOTOS)

by Maressa Brown on July 5, 2012 at 3:27 PM

Mitt RomneyIt's no rumor anymore: Ann Romney has confirmed that hubby Mitt's looking for another woman ... to be his vice-presidential running mate on the ticket this fall. In a CBS News interview being broadcast today, Ann said, "We've been looking at that, and I love that option as well. There's a lot of people that Mitt is considering right now." Nails-on-a-chalkboard grammar aside, you gotta love that quote! Because it sounds like Camp Romney could be heading off the McCain deep end ... He wants his very own Sarah Palin!

While the Romney campaign has been keeping mum on who they're considering (and hopefully fully vetting this time!), there has been quite a bit of buzz around three female politicians. But given how the GOP likely feels they need to find someone who can match Romney's Ken doll charisma, the biggest question likely is: Who looks best next to Mitt?!*

Check 'em out ...

Here's New Hampshire Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte alongside Mitt ... The two were actually pretty chummy yesterday, as they both walked in the same Fourth of July parade, but didn't really get any pics together, because I'm sure Camp Mitt doesn't want speculation that Kelly's The Woman. Nonetheless, the event may have been an orchestrated test of their political chemistry!

Or how about former eBay CEO Meg Whitman? They're both vulture capitalists, so they'll surely see eye-to-eye on business, I mean, politics. But is she "movie star hot" enough to help him win? You be the judge ...

Now, last but not least, we've got South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, the second Indian-American governor in the U.S. Judging from this photo, she's also practically BFFs with ol' Mittens! Is this a match made in presidential campaign heaven or what? Well, at least if you go by looks alone, which, as we learned in 2008, I'd bet an embarrassing number of Americans do ...

Here's your chance to vote: Which potential VP candidate do you think looks best next to Mitt Romney?

*Disclaimer: I don't actually believe that any politician should be judged -- or chosen to run in a major national election -- by how they look. This sarcastic story was meant to as a tongue-in-cheek way of calling attention to the ludicrous reality that many Americans do judge female politicians especially on trivial, superficial factors.

For all of the whining on the stir about how various people and things objectify women, you seem more than happy to objectify women whose political views differ from yours. Pathetic.

Yes, an embarassing number DID vote based on looks. I saw dozens upon dozens of women talking about the good looking, charasmatic Obama, and saying really hateful things about McCain's looks. Plus, Obama is dark skinned. Can we say brownie points?
What's sad though, is that you're doing the same thing, and perpetuating the cycle of candidates chosen based on on-camera compatability of looks.
I'm not stupid, I know that it DOES work to get 2 running mates that look good together. But it shouldn't matter. I swear, we should go back to the days of listening to politics on the radio. Maybe we would have better people in government office, if we don't get to see what they look like.

Seriously? I thought from the title you were going to satirize/critisize how politics objectifes women by focusing on their looks over their qualifications, and instead you completely validated such a norm! Our vice presidential canidate shouldn't be a beauty pagaent - and if it IS a de facto beauty pagaent, you should be CRITISIZING that reality as opposed to supporting it. Which women is "pretty" enough, are you serious?! How about which one is SMARTEST, or which one the most EXPERIENCE, or even which one with the most CHARISMA. Some tangible skill besides "prettiness", ugh. You are hereafter my least favorite author on this site after Jenny E. and if I were you I'd seriously consider a retraction to such an idiotic article.

Thanks for an article that proves once again that liberal women will act like they support women until they realize they think differently than they do.This country couldn't handle having a strong women who is conservative.  Hell, this country can't handle a strong black man who is conservative.  Look at how Herman Cain was treated by the media.  Where are all those women who couldn't wait to sue him for sexual harassment? Nowhere now right?  I wish people would stop voting only my party lines and really learn to understand what the people they are voting for stands for.  I am a resigter democrat but I voted both democrat and replubican throught out my years of voting.  I would never vote for someone only because of the letter they have behind their name.

    ROTFLMAO!!!

THIS from the author of the "Obama's Justin Bieber 'Cover' Proves He's Got the 'Swag' to Win This Fall" posting?!?!?

Given the banality you demonstrate here, you are in no position to be taking a condescending tone regarding the political views of others.

BTW, Palin was very thoroughly vetted, by both sides. She ruffled a lot of feathers in her own party rooting out corruption, and she was thoroughly investigated by her own party long before she was chosen for the VP slot. And even after that, the 30 member army of lawyers that the Obama campaign sent to try to find dirt on her came up with nary a speck. Even if you disagree with her politics, the fact that she is one of the squeakiest clean politicians in the game is beyond argument. She was certainly vetted far more so than OWEbama has been even at this late date.

    ROTFLMAO!!!, continued...

Stick to slandering the Boy Scouts or trying to blame the Congressional democrats voting record on a president who was not even in office at the time, you might look just a little bit less silly.

ANY of the four women you named in your article have resume's that outclass Obama's qualifications to the point where they are not even comparable.

Perhaps continuing with prattling on about which actor and actress might be suitable for what role in the "50 Shades" movie would be more suited to your knowledge and intellect than public policy.

BTW, I am sure you would be shrieking "sexism" and "misogyny" from the rooftops if a conservative were to go 1% in the direction that you have taken.

Maressa, as soon as I saw the title of this "article" and read it, I was all prepared to lay into you and call you out for being the spiteful, hypocritical, and intellectual insult to women that you are, but then I read everyone else's posts and see that they have already done that. So, I will leave you to your pitiful excuse for an article alone. Oh wait...

I'm sure this article was unnecessary, and I am intending to vote to re-elect Mr.  Obama and Mr. Biden.  There was no need to make the search for a Vice-Presidential candidate into a joke.  I had hoped for better when I clicked on this article.
