No longer able to ignore what is potentially the biggest scandal in United States history, the mainstream media reported Wednesday night on Operation Fast and Furious. The 18-month-old case involves ATF agents instructing gun sellers (mostly in Arizona) to sell firearms to people suspected to be involved with Mexican drug cartels. Using taxpayer money from the 2009 stimulus bill, by the way. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Nearly 2,000 guns disappeared, but no worries, we’ve found a bunch of them-- at crime scenes. 300 or more Mexican citizens have died in the crossfire from these weapons, and U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry lost his life in this fight.
The reason the mainstream media outlets were no longer able to ignore this incredible story is because on Wednesday the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted to hold Attorney General Eric in contempt for his failure to share key documents related the operation.
Just before the vote, President Obama invoked Executive Privilege (the first time he’s done so in his presidency) to prevent the release of the documents in question. A president will from time to time use this tactic to “withhold from Congress documents revealing internal communications and decision-making of the executive branch of government that he believes should remain confidential.”
Obama has said that he had no knowledge of Fast and Furious, and furthermore that Eric Holder would not have ordered such an operation. If neither man had knowledge of it, what are they trying to hide by not releasing key documents? If Barack Obama, the Chief Executive of the United States, were not involved whatsoever with Operation Fast and Furious, why would he use the Executive Privilege.
Side note: In 2007, Senator Obama lambasted President Bush for hiding behind Executive Privilege.
This is not about partisan politics, as Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats claim. This is about our government knowingly and willingly providing firearms to Mexican drug cartels. It’s about the 300+ dead Mexican citizens. It’s about Brian Terry. The families of the fallen deserve justice, and Americans deserve answers.
Republican or Democrat, the actions that took place under Eric Holder and Barack Obama’s watch are inexcusable.

"Scandal" is a major understatement.
What other criminal act by government officials involved breaking anywhere close to as many domestic laws AND international treaties? Go back as far in history as you like. So far only one death on our side of the border, and likely we will never know the total in Mexico. A conspiracy by elected officials to undermine the Bill of Rights?
This is totally unprecedented. There is nothing even remotely like it on either it's scale or severity in American history.
This goes straight to the White House.
Question: Does the frivolous invocation of "Executive Privilege", 1. to attempt to cover up documents that Congress clearly has the right to review, and 2. illegally in the face of an investigation into wrong doing; rise to the level of Obstruction of Justice?
Biggest scandal in a century and a half.

Right, it's not about politics. It's about the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry (Obama's Press Sec. can't be bothered to remember his name), ICE Agent Jaime Zapata and an estimated 300 Mexicans.
Their friends, families, loved ones deserve answers.
