Dad Charged With Strapping Daughter in Car Seat & Fatally Tossing Her Into a Creek

by Ericka Sóuter on June 18, 2012 at 4:15 PM

creekA father is accused of tossing his 2-year-old daughter into a creek while still strapped in her car seat.

Prosecutors say back in November Arthur Morgan-Glover asked the girl's mother if he could take her to a movie. When he didn't return a few hours later, she called police, who found little Tierra's body in a park creek

According to police reports, the toddler was still alive and snug in her car seat when he threw her from a New Jersey overpass into the freezing water. To make sure it sank, he weighed the seat down with a car jack.

Morgan is charged with murder in addition to interference with custody and child endangerment. If convicted, he could get life in prison without the possibility of parole -- the harshest penalty in New Jersey.

But I have to ask, is that really harsh enough for a crime so heinous and so cruel. It is horrifying to think of this toddler's final, terror filled moments. As often as crimes against children fill the news, I will never get used to stories like these. It is a heartbreaking shame.

What do you think of this case?

This is why my son shouldn't see his dad, who is a habitual violent offender.

I think this guy should be tossed into the general prison population and left to his own devices.

while the bigger person in me wants to say "an eye for an eye will leave the world blind"... i also have to say, as a mother - strap his ass to a weighted down chair and throw him in a frozen river. the slow cold death is still too good for him, but perhaps those final moments will give him clarity to see the error of his ways. and if not, well he's drowning anyway.

and i just have to add, not necessarily to any of you CM'ers here, but to the child bearing / having public in general: YOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT PAWNS IN YOUR LITTLE GAME, THEY ARE PEOPLE! stop hurting and throwing away your children... and over custody disputes? divorces? - WTF is wrong with people!?

Someone needs to strap him into some sort of restraint, and throw him into a freezing cold river, face down, and let him fucking DROWN!!!

And that is why I will always support the use of the death penalty!
Rather than getting a bullet to the head, this monster will live a cushy life for the rest of his life, with free food, TV, internet, a soft bed, free medical, free college.
In my stepdaughter's country, if he wasn't executed, he'd be in a labor colony for the rest of his life, with minimal care, and food in proportion to the amount of backbreaking labor he does.

Being a parent I've had to face many new emotions I never thought existed and on that note, I for the life of me can not understand how a parent could do this to their child. I really don't.

That's very sad and I hope he rots in the deepest level of hell. But I just want to add that maybe it should have been a red flag that he wanted to take a 2-yr-old to a movie (correct me if I'm wrong).
