Mystery Boy Found in Woods Is Looking for His Family & You Can Help (PHOTO)

by Jeanne Sager on June 13, 2012 at 1:02 PM

RayRemember the bizarre case of the German "forest boy," the English-speaking teenager who walked out of the woods with no knowledge of his origins last fall? It just got weirder. Berlin Police have just released brand new photos of Ray that they're asking international media to spread far and wide.

It seems that nine months on, they still have no clue who this kid is. That's not just bizarre. It's heartwrenching.

Even if this were a hoax, can you imagine a family who has no clue where their kid is for nine months? I can't.

But in an odd way, this might be good news for Ray. If people can look at the emotional side of this and be moved by the time he's spent aimlessly wondering who he is in Berlin (albeit under good care for once), perhaps they'll be energized and make the push necessary to find this forest boy's real family. Hey, it's better than thinking he'll never get home, right?

So here's what we can do: spread the word. Spread his photos. Get him home.

The new police photos are accompanied by the random bits of information that Ray has been able to remember. His mom was named Doreen, and she died in a car accident. He lived in the woods for five years after that with his dad, Ryan. And he was born on June 20, 1994, which means he will turn 18 in a week.

Did you think forest boy was a hoax back in September? What do you think now? Will you share his photo?

I find it odd that he doesn't remember anything about who he is or where he's from.  I also don't understand why an adult would take himself and his child into the woods.  Something sketchy is going on here.

Now that his actual photo has been released, I'm sure the mystery will be solved very soon.

If his story us true, he likely has amnesia from the accident and that's why he doesn't know/remember anything from before his mother died. I read another article that said he has scars, because he was in the accident that killed his mother. His father clearly had a mental break from reality when he decided to take his child to go live a wandering life in the forest. Sad story no matter what the truth is. I hope he can have a good life no matter what happened before. Childhood can be very painful, but it is not the end, there's so much more to life. I hope someone has told him this...

My initial thought when I read this, no one has stepped forward.. could his memory just be what he wants it to be and his family sent him to the woods? We are in a society now a days rather than deal with what life gets you people are killing it off.

It could be trauma-induced amnesia. Poor kid. He must have friends out there that could help him.

Zarin, you could dna test him, but dna tests of every living person isn't kept in the closet so you can open it up, there have to be circumstances as to why police have your dna mostly because you are a criminal of some kind.

Well it could be a hoax or not.  He could of been camping with his family and killed them.  Other teenagers has (sociopath) in the past. I can't believe no one has spoken up by now.  Something isn't right about the whole situation.

wouldn't this be like gossip if you don't know the truth? Why print something if you don't know if it's true or not?
