Obama’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ Might as Well Say 'Vote Me Baby' (VIDEO)

by Lindsay Mannering on June 5, 2012 at 3:22 PM

obama call me maybeHey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's a video of Obama, singing "Call Me, Maybe"! I think you should watch it. It's the "Call Me Maybe" lip syncs to end all "Call Me Maybe" lip syncs.

Thanks to someone with a very creative mind and an even better eye for editing, this video shows our president "singing" his face off to Carly Rae Jespen's newly iconic pop song. A little bit hilarious, a lot a bit awesome, this video does more than just make the kids chuckle, it makes the kids think, again, about Obama.

Watch!

I think my favorite part is when he says "baby."

As November draws nearer, we'll see election ads come and go, we'll hear countless robo-calls, and we'll undoubtedly be inundated with Romney/Obama propaganda everywhere we turn, but none of that mass-marketing can be, or will be, as effective as a homemade viral video. Its impact and its influence can't be underestimated, and its existence might be just what Obama needs.

Obama's star has been fading and many have wondered if he can reclaim the youth vote that propelled him to victory in 2008. But if more of his young supporters come up with innovative, viral, and well, youthful ways to get his name in out there, it could be the boost he needs.

And right now, there's nothing more catchy and young than a "Call Me Maybe" cover. The challenge will be coming up with the next idea.

Do you think viral videos will play a key part in the 2012 election?

We live in a sad country, if people are voted based on personality and singing ability.

No, you live in a sad country where more than 40% of the population thinks a stuffed suit billionaire puppet would make a good president.  Let's all go back to the heady Bush days....weeeeee!  Good luck with that.

My favourite song of the moment is "Mitt", sung to the tune of WAR:

Mitt!  What is he good for?

    Absolutely NOTHING...say it again now!

Anyone who votes for Obama for only his singing voice is an idiot. And it's quite unfortunate that that is one of the reasons people think he is a "good president".
It should be based on the ability to efficiently run a country, not their American Idol-like singing ability.

Well, at least under Bush my family was thriving.  Under Obama, my husband has had only one raise and he lost his gas allowance which is about $500.00 a month that we now need to pay.  I don't know if it will be better under Romney but I'm willing to take that chance.

Your Republican overlords JUST voted against the Equal Pay Act.  I guess if you're a SAHM this doesn't affect you much, but if you work outside of the home shouldn't you get the same pay for the same work? Should your sisters and daughters just accept less?

Oh, I already know the response...WHAT REPUBLICAN WAR AGAINST WOMEN?

Even Bill Clinton isn't a fan of Obama anymore, he knows Obama is sucking the life out of this economy.  Who cares if he can sing?  Remember what your mama taught you when you were a teen "don't trust the smooth talkers, they're always trouble"  that's how I feel about Obama.

It's such a damn shame that being Cool Dude isn't enough of a skill set to do, well, anything, I guess - since Cool Dude didn't do anything before he was president, either.   Cool Dude and his supporters are just plain desperate at this point.  People like him because he's cool, but they won't vote for him, because we are hurting and he's just busy singing, appearing on late night talk shows, and not much else.  Except being cool.

Bring on the stuffed suit billionaire, who actually has job experience, understands the economy, and has proven ability to turn-around a failing venture.  I bet he coulda saved Solyndra....Cool Dude should've called him.

It makes me very sad that an election has come to such a silly thing as this. Seriously? A silly video to elect someone for the most important job in the country? The reason he won't get the "youth" vote again this time is that those "youth" have grown up, probably are unemployed living in their parents basements and know better now. He has done NOTHING he promised to do and when asked why, he says he "needs more time."

This country is a mess and if anyone votes for someone because of something so stupid as this, we've got more serious problems.

I have a great idea, lets send Obama to Canada to be their PM.

Did any of you actually watch it? It's just a video people put together. He didn't ACTUALLY sing the song, and we aren't going to vote for him based off of that. It's just mindless entertainment.
But we RE going to vote for him because, for one, he isn't Mitt Romney.

I'm with zand on this one, I would take the Bush days back any day of the week and twice on Sunday
Procrasta, thank GOD they voted against the equal pay act. That bill is absurd, and Obama says that its needed for economic recovery!?!? Just shows he has no clue what is really needed for the economy. The democrats love to mention that bill like a dog and pony show, saying See! The republicans voted against a bill for women!! Um, no - they voted agaisnt a riduculous and yet another federal strangle hold on businesses. If you read that bill, it will allow for anyone to release their pay information, and sue their company to prove its not discrimination. Yay for trial lawyers!!! Yay for all the people who want bigger government watching over businesses even more by having to explain every raise!! If that bill were to pass, how willing do you think most companies will be to hire women, as compared to without that bill??? Duh....let's hire more women and open ourselves up for lawsuits! Let's have all our employees running around telling anyone who will listen, what their salary is!!!
