There's no question the death of Mary Richardson Kennedy is tragic. The estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was just 52 years old, and she left behind young children with her apparent suicide. But all this talk of the Kennedy curse tends to make me a little uncomfortable.
Are we talking about a loss of life because we're saddened by tragedy? Or are people so hellbent on proving some sort of superstitious hocus pocus that they'll grasp at any straw? Is there really a Kennedy curse?
I wasn't convinced. So I went poking through the history of the Kennedy clan.
More from The Stir: Mary Richardson Kennedy's Suicide Makes a Legacy of Loss Even More Tragic (VIDEO)
And I hate to say it, but there might be something to this whole "curse" thing after all. Young deaths. Criminal scandals. Folks with tangential relations getting caught up in painful incidents?
It's all there in black and white and sometimes color photographs. Mary Kennedy's death is yet another sad story in a list of sad stories.
Take a look and be honest, do you think the Kennedys are cursed?

There is no "Kennedy curse", just another high profile distraction as to hide the truth of what the "powers that be" insidious agenda really is. We are nearing the Summer Solstice and will see many more "stars" die (fall) - especially around the time of the summer olympics and the queen of England's royal events take place.
Only those whom are asleep will take the national news' over sensationalized and scripted details of this lady's "suicide" at face value. Moreover, her family members will do as instructed by the "powers that be" or it'll be some humiliating scandal made public or lights out for them as well.
I do wish that more would stop stumbling around with eyes wide open shut. WAKE UP, PLEASE!!

Hubris, serial infidelity, rampant alcoholism and drug use, numerous sexual assaults against women, a murder conviction, and the drowning death of an innocent intern do not a "curse" make.
I believe this family has more than its share of dysfunction, repeated decade after decade.
Getting close to the Kennedys certainly comes with a very high price.
That said, I feel sorry for this woman's loved ones and sad for her tragic ending. RIP, Mary Kennedy.
Thank you, texasmamma - most of their "curse" is self inflicted... Pretty sure Karma, fate or whatever you want to call it doesn't make you a drunk, junkie, criminal, fill in whatever other adjective here..... Those are personal choices.
The assasination of JFK and Bobby were terrible but they go with the political territory. And Joe Jr being shot down in war and their sister dying in the plane crash were the only two events that were beyond anyone's control.
This "curse" is an example of sometimes regardless of how much money and fame you have, you held personally accountable for your actions.....

jaci: "what about the kennedy cousin involved in the murder of martha moxley."
Jaci, not just "involved", but convicted of her murder, as I mentioned in my post @ May 17, 6:35 pm. And his appeals have been rejected by higher courts.
There's a well-written "true crime" book about this tragedy and brutal murder of a 15 year-old girl: "Murder In Greenwich"
He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.
