To be quite honest with you, I'm still really, really bitter about the supermoon incident.
Why?
Because here in the NY area, it was too cloudy to see the giant moon threatening to swallow us all alive, aaaack!
Spare me your spectacular supermoon photos, rest of the world, because I am resentful they got to witness the rare lunar event and I DID NOT.
Anyway. As such, all my money's on the upcoming solar eclipse. That's right, Sunday May 20, baby! Better known as the Ring of Fire, that is, because an annular solar eclipse blocks out most of the sun, leaving only a flaming, glowing ring of glowy amazing-ness.
So get ready: May 20, late afternoon or early evening. You don't wanna miss this!
But let's get to the real issue here. Perhaps you're wondering if the Ring of Fire will doom your life to supermoon-level mayhem?
Um, yeah, pretty much. Except not exactly. From what I can tell (cause astrology is seriously complicated), while the supermoon made everybody's personal lives go nutso, the solar eclipse (which will be in Gemini, by the way) makes everything go nutso on a global scale. So like, maybe you won't have some crazy family drama or get fired or anything like that, but maybe ... there might be something like a giant flood.
I can't decide if this is good news or bad news. I mean bad, obviously, but the other side of the coin suggests that whatever this epic worldwide disaster thing is will have positive results. In a bringing people together kind of way.
Do you have any (good or bad) expectations for the solar eclipse on Sunday?

I'm with you on the whole Supermoon gyp. Who do we write to? That's an e-peition I'd sign, for a Do-Over!!! I think the entire country was clouded over. I saw NUTHIN this weekend in Iowa. And i was really looking forward to it, too.
Sigh. Maybe I'll have better luck this weekend with the eclipse.
Should have checked your sources, silly! The May 20 solar eclipse will not be visible in the Eastern part of the United States, including NYC and Boston. =oP
Yep, what PP said. Unless you live in a thin area of the Western US stretching from northern CA to Lubbock, you aren't going to see it. Luckily, I'm in Albuquerque, NM, and we are dead center in the path of this one. :-)
I got to see the supermoon :) which was quite lucky... considering I was in China, in a city not too far from Beijing. I did take a few pictures, but they're not very impressive. And honestly, I couldn't help but hope that it'd be like some huge giant that blotted out the sky or something. I need to lower my expectations... haha. So yea... wasn't entirely impressed. Personally I like seeing the giant orangey version. which oddly enough was there like two days later... didn't take a picture of that one though.
probably won't be able to see it from where I live... I probably live in the worst place to see anything cool. There was that one time though we saw a bit of the northern lights, strangely enough. No camera though (not like the ones we have would be able to capture it anyways. Ah, the problems of digital cams... not great for night shots)
oops... forgot to mention I'm actually back home in Canada so...
I got to see the Supermoon. My daughter was having a sleepover for her birthday, so I got the girls up to see it. It was amazing. Luckily I'll get to see Solar Eclipse, too, since I'm in NorCal.
