David Chaney "checks out" PalinSo, you know this whole Secret Service prostitution scandal that's making the good ol' U.S. of A. look top notch? Well, it just got a little creepier. It now involves Sarah Palin. Fantastic.
Turns out, David Chaney, one of the Secret Service agents who was sent home from a summit meeting in Cartagena, Colombia for reportedly enjoying the company of a prostitute, used to work for Sarah Palin. And it also turns out that he reportedly once posted a photo of himself "looking after" Palin on Facebook, along with the message, "I was really checking her out, if you know what I mean?" And to think some people don't perceive America as having class. Pffft.
To make matters worse, The Washington Post, which first discovered the Facebook post, noted that Chaney is actually married, along with being the father to an adult son. So, why would you ... what would possess you ... how could you ... Bottom line, some people just have balls.
There are certain jobs where discretion and professionalism are of the utmost importance. Sure, they're valuable attributes to have in any career, but certain jobs -- jobs like being an international spy, or being in the Secret Service -- seem to value it more than others. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that possessing such characteristics is the most important thing in such a job.
What I'm trying to say is, posting something like that (something totally unprofessional) on Facebook is a bad enough idea, but posting something like that when you're working for high profile people in the government is pretty much insane. I kind of can't believe that Chaney did this. Then again, I can't believe he was hanging out with Colombian prostitutes while on the clock.
What do you think of Chaney's Facebook post?
