Conservatives Mock Buffett Rule With Hilarious Results

LOL 35

warren buffetPresident Obama has recently been touting the Buffett Rule, a proposed new tax on the uber-wealthy, named for famed billionaire Warren Buffet. Buffett has been vocal in his support for higher taxes on high-income earners, claiming that he pays fewer taxes than his secretary.

No word on whether or not Buffett has voluntarily donated to the government.

This is such a dumb idea. First of all, why should we punish people for their financial success? Secondly, the wealthy already pay the lion’s share of the taxes in our country. All of those percentages being tossed around, like Warren Buffett paying a lower percentage than his two hundred thousand dollar a year secretary are skewed numbers, because no one seems to understands what “income” is.

Super rich people make money from capital gains and dividends, which they then turn around and reinvest into the economy. Raising taxes on capital gains means that rich people employers won’t be able to create jobs.

President Obama turned to social media on Tuesday to promote the ridiculous lie that implementing the Buffett Rule will solve our economic woes. As conservatives on Twitter love to do, we took over the hashtag, and hilariousness ensued.

Here are some of the best tweets:

Don’t let it be said that conservatives don’t have a sense of humor.

How is making the rich pay the same % of tax as the rest of us punishing them?? At what point do you suggest they get a tax break and pay the 20% less than everyone else?? 100k, 200k? Why coddle the rich? Because FOX news calls them the 'job creators'... yeah, nannies, facialists, assistants, etc.

DestinyHLewis... turn off FOX news and think for yourself. All the economists in the country urged the stimulus and GWBush bailed out the auto industry.

Get your facts straight.

We need to point out that erasing the bush tax cuts for the wealthy erases 30% or more of the budget deficit. Don't listen to the idiots parroting what Fox news tells them about it being PENNIES. Its a lie.

Trailer park trash defending the rich is the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed. Crush our unions, don't give us healthcare and don't make the rich pay their fair share... It's got to be prozac and Fox news in combination.

Gee, here's a thought, how about the government stops spending money like it's water since that's where our deficits come from? The idea that every time the incompetent fools in Washington, including the one in the White house take us another step closer to bankruptcy someone is supposed to pay more taxes to reward their irresponsible behavior with yet more money to throw away is insane. As far as the tax rate on the wealthy their income is taxed at the highest tax bracket and their capital gains are taxed at the same rate as Joe Schmoe's capital gains are. If you want a lower tax rate start concentrating on making money from capital gains instead of a job. Simple as that but most people would rather just complain than improve their own situation.

If lower taxes for rich people helps jobs and the economy then why haven't there been more jobs and a better economy since they lowered taxes on the rich? It's a big lie! Make them pay at the same rate as everybody else.
