Some pfooteople will do anything to get out of work. This dude, Hans Url -- who you should know is 56 -- didn't want to go back to work so badly that he found an electric saw, hacked off his left foot, and threw said foot into the furnace to burn a fiery death. Oh, I'm serious. 

Here's the story: Unemployment officials were due over at Hans' place to determine whether or not he was fit to find work. When he learned of this -- and the fact that his benefits would run out should they find him to be fine -- he did what any person who hates going to work would do: He started sawin' away.

Hans waited for his wife and son to leave the house, and once they did, he placed his left leg against an electric saw in the boiler room and hacked off his foot from just above the ankle. Things didn't go as smoothly as you'd think, though.

Hans started bleeding profusely and basically was a few breaths away from death. So he called an ambulance. When they arrived, they found him completely covered in blood, and they retrieved his foot from the fire. They airlifted Hans to a hospital, and although he was saved, doctors weren't able to reattach his foot because it was too severely burned.

The moral of the story here, kids? Um, I guess just ... go to work. Or at least be open to work. Even if it's not your dream job, it's something. I know a crappy gig can sometimes seem like worst thing in the world, but it isn't worth your foot. And yeah, while we're on the subject, don't saw off your foot either. Unemployment is a beautiful thing, should you need it. But it's definitely not as good as your feet.
