Kate Upton is now world famous for being on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. She's super hot. She's 19. And she's got an awesome rack. You probably thought that was all you needed to know about her, but you might find it interesting to learn that she's got a famous uncle. Well, famous if you're from the sixth congressional district in Michigan, that is. Her father's brother is Rep. Fred Upton, and he's held his position as a Republican congressman in the Wolverine State since 1987.
So, hmm. Do you think this cover of Kate in a red string bikini will hurt her uncle's conservative political career?
I sure don't. Maybe I'm being naive, but I don't really think a guy who's been in office for 25 years is going to be ousted by voters who don't approve of his niece's photo spread. Maybe I could see there being a kerfuffle about it if she was his daughter, but even still, I'm apt to think that voters wouldn't hold this against him. And nor should they, I'm just saying.
More from The Stir: Get Kate Upton's Look -- Even If You Aren't a Swimsuit Model
If constituents were going to vote Rep. Upton out for any reason, it should be because Kate allegedly dated that loser Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez for a while. I mean, he's no Super Bowl MVP like Eli Manning, now is he. Go Giants.
Anyway, I'm sure there will be some person or a half a person who will find her cover morally repugnant and will decide that her decisions somehow reflect on her uncle's decision making skills. That person isn't me, though. Kate looks hot, she's of age, and she's not naked. Good for her. And as far as her uncle is concerned, carry on, good sir.
Do you think Kate's cover will damage her uncle's political position?
