This is such a sweet story: Two sick dogs walked into the lobby of Christus Spohn Shoreline hospital in Texas, and waited with the other patients to be seen. The puppies were dog tired and emaciated, and obviously really smart. They also trusted people enough to seek help from them.
And the humans came through for these canine cuties. Rather than kicking them out or calling in the doggie police, the staff decided to give the animals the help they needed: Sausages, bacon, and a little TLC.
After the feast fit for a King (or Duke or Fido), the hospital staff called the local humane society, which agreed to take the dogs if someone dropped them off. The doctor agreed and off they all went.
The news van thing is a little weird, but even if the hospital wanted some good PR for its good deed, it's still a wonderful thing.
The puppies will be ready for adoption in a few weeks -- I really hope someone takes the two of them together! And you'll find other cuties looking for homes at the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

I adopted one cat from the humane society, took one in after MIL couldnt keep, and found one sweet kitten at Burger King a few months ago! lol. I dont buy pets, and I dont know why you would. people harp on worries of behavior problems with rescues, but what about the health problems with pure pred dogs, or puppy mills? We should all rescue and adopt. :)
Awww poor puppies I really hope they get adopted together! I haven't adopted one, but I plan to. :)
Poor babies! I'm sure they will find excellent homes and live like kings.
I am very active in dog rescue. We've adopted 4 dogs over the years, fostered dozens of others, and I volunteer at 2 local shelters and 1 breed-specific rescue (rottweilers). Dogs rule!
Awww cute story... We never adopted a dog however I feel like our dog adopted us.. He was a stray just wandering around, running from everyone but when I was outside he came right up to me and I was able to pet him.. He looked me like: Well whats next Im here so lets go in the house.. That was like 4 years ago.. With us ever since
My little Min Pin (Penny) is the most loyal and loving dog ever....she was just used for breeding and kept outside when she wasn't having puppies, when her former owners decided she was too old to breed they literally brought her to me and said that if I couldn't take her they would put her down because she was usless now... WTH! I have had her for 2 years she's plump, lazy, and a very good companion and our family loves her:)
I adopted a pit mix from the local HS when he was about 6 months old and I wouldn't trade him for any other dog no matger how much money ya try ta give me!! He fits in with our family perfect! We have had his for over 2 years now and we'll NEVER get rid of him! We love him,and he loves us! Would I do it again? You bet! The only problem is findin one that will be a perfect fit for our family! And just so y'all know...Pits get a bad rap! He's one of the best dogs I've ever been around, and Ive been around alot of dogs through out my life! :)
Awwwwwwwww so cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!
We adopted our second pit bull (mix-not sure with what though) just about 6 months ago. She was emaciated when animal control found her, she had a lung infection and the only reason why she's with us today is because we have some great pit bull rescue centers around here that took her in, put her almost immediately in foster care and then we were blessed to find her.
@kiowagirl75 - I have a min pin too and she is the best dog! I love her!
