Susan G. Komen for the CureSusan G. Komen for the Cure has cut its funding to Planned Parenthood due to new guidelines that restrict the foundation from contributing money to organizations under congressional investigation. Guidelines that were most likely put in place with the specific intent of defunding America’s number one abortion mill.
Sue Dunlap, the chief executive of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, admits, "We had the sense this was coming and that they were under pressure ... I find this really disappointing. I think when women's health is more of a political conversation than a conversation about healthcare and taking care of people, then we've gone too far."
This has nothing to do with either health care or politics and everything to do with the free market. Komen is a private charity that relies on donations to keep up their fight against breast cancer. As news has spread through the ever-expanding pro-life community that the foundation supports Planned Parenthood, many people have withdrawn their support.
More from The Stir: Susan G. Komen's Defunding of Planned Parenthood: 5 Ways to Protest Responsibly
Sure, they say the money goes for breast health exams, but money is liquid. Once it goes into the bank, it’s grouped with all the money that’s in there, and then it’s paid out for expenses. It’s like having a dual-income household with a joint checking account. The mortgage isn’t paid with one income and groceries with the other; they’re both paid out of the same checking account.
Besides, Planned Parenthood doesn’t even offer mammograms, which are the surest way to detect early signs of cancer. How much money do they need to be able to tell a patient, “Yup, that feels like a lump -- here’s the number for a place that can actually help you”?
Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood pushes abortions, lies about fetal development, and gives advice to pimps on how to set up brothels full of underage sex slaves. Think abortion accounts for only 3 percent of their services provided? Think again.

Understandably, some people decided to stop writing checks to Susan G. Komen in protest of their support of Planned Parenthood. Therefore the Komen people made the decision to stop funding them. If it backfires and they lose more support from this decision, they can always go back to the way things were.
Now where’s my checkbook? I have a donation I’d like to make to support breast cancer research for a cure, and to say thanks to Susan G. Komen for just saying no to Planned Parenthood.

What. the. [insert expletives]. You actually had the gall to write this up and push it live? What is wrong with you?
No, seriously. Let's all ignore the other things that PP does for women. Let's consider that for a moment. Sure NOT ALL OF THE PP LOCATIONS OFFER MAMOGRAPHIES. But they all all offer manual breast exams and will refer a woman at risk to a location that can offer a mammography. Let's ignore that they offer other vital services that are extremely helpful to women. But no, how about you harp on about the abortions? It's only 3% of what they offer but hey, let's toss everything else they do so you can stand on your soapbox and whine about how great it is the SGK who is infamous for other bad practices (Hey, everyone, we can ignore that too right?) so that you can whine about PP.
People like you and these BS op-eds are sickening. Please, go away. Stop with your complete BS. Stop with your lies.
OH YEAH! LET'S ALL CITE PRO-LIFE SOURCES. Those that were proven to not report the whole story and lied. YES! YOU ARE SO RIGHT! OMG. HOW COULD I MISS ALL THE FACTS! Oh right, you're just reporting biased facts. Just like they were. Which makes you no better their shady ways.
If you cared about facts, then you would know that financial or governmental aid that Planned Parenthood receives does NOT go towards abortions. Taxpayers do not pay for abortions, but since when have facts mattered to you? After my ex boyfriend raped me, I was sent to Planned Parenthood. Nobody tried to set me up with a pimp, nor cause me any harm. You aren't spewing conspiracy theories, you are spewing lies. This fear mongering is disgusting. This is why I will never vote Republican. People like yourself use lies, fear mongering tactics and guilt trips to manipulate ignorant people. This article was so horribly factually incorrect, I honestly thought it was a joke, until I saw who the author was. Cafe Mom, is Jenny really the best conservative writer you could find?
Your blatant lies aside, nothing says "pro-life" like reducing access for poor women to resources for any health care, including breast cancer screenings. You don't get to call yourself "pro-life" when you don't care about people who have already been born.
Oh man...you used your own site as a source, along with 4 other incredibly biased websites. *snort* Life news? Fail. Epic fail, even.
I'm sure I'll have more to say about this garbage later.
