CafeMom Talks to Newt Gingrich on Dec. 30: Join the Discussion!

Politics & Views 41

Newt GingrichWith just days remaining before the Iowa caucuses, Republican presidential candidates have gone into high gear in a last-ditch effort to win over the state's Republican voters.

Having surged recently in Iowa polls (although the latest poll puts those numbers in question), Newt Gingrich is the headline-maker these days, and we know you have a lot of questions about how his plans and policies would benefit you and your family if he were elected president.

That's why CafeMom is hosting a "Coffee Break" between moms, Newt Gingrich, and his wife Callista, at Java Joe's in Des Moines on Friday, December 30. It will be hosted by myself and pollster Frank Luntz.

Find out how to attend this event if you live in the Des Moines area -- or submit a question for us to ask Newt -- after the jump!

We created this Coffee Break to give moms the opportunity to find out what this outspoken candidate has to say when it comes to the issues that matter most to you.

After all, moms are a crucial demographic for the 2012 elections. Yet according to a recent CafeMom survey, many of you believe your elected officials on Capitol Hill aren't listening and don't know what you and your family are going through. We want to help you make the right decision for you and your family before casting your ballot in November 2012, and we hope that this Coffee Break is the first of many in-depth discussions we have with the candidates on your behalf.

We will be choosing moms from the audience to ask Newt questions themselves -- so if you live in or near Des Moines and want to attend, go to this link and RSVP.

We'll also be asking questions that we've culled from readers hear at The Stir and on CafeMom.

So let's get this conversation started: What would you like to ask Newt Gingrich?

Let me know in the comments!

I would like to ask him why he proposed in the mid-90's to impose the death penalty upon American citizens for simple marijuana possession. I would also like to ask him why he thinks the President of the US has to be religious, even though our founding fathers clearly supported separation of church and state. His extremist views are exactly the opposite of what America needs right now.

If same sex marriage corrupts the sanctity of marriage then why did he cheat on two of his 3 wives? Oh and why did he have to have 3 wives to begin with? If marriage is so sacred?

I would like to ask him, The prisons are full of people who have said they found God and are sorry. Why should we believe him?

I would give him my condolences when Ron Paul wipes him out of the primaries.  God may have forgiven him for his indiscretions, but no cheater is forgotten in my book, and I don't want one running my country.  He is a flip flopper on issues, and has proven himself untrustworthy.  Sorry Newt this Southern gal is giving you two thumbs down!

While I have mostly liberal views on political policy, I am still conservative on others so I am not blindly following any certain party;I will vote for the person who I think will do the best job. However, The Republican party has no candidate that comes remotely close to being an acceptable choice, imo and certainly none of them have the best interest of the American people at heart.I could not vote for anyone who is either so extremist, disrespectfully confrontational, self righteous, judgemental and hypocritical as all these candidates are.No politician is perfect but the right has just gotten too fundamentalist for me...There are many questions I would ask Newt.:why corporations deserve person hood, his view on term limits, campaign contribution, congressional health care and then compared to universal health care& what he wants done about it,who his highest campaign contributors are,why he cares what others do in their bedroom...those are just some off the top of my head...

First I would ask him to get his hand off my knee before I turned him into a castrano.  Then I'd ask him why he thought the best time to serve his first wife with divorce papers was while she was in the hospital for cervical cancer.

Why is he such a stupid ass? I'm atheist, and support gay marriages, and he's shitty IMO. Because he believes that an atheist can't do it? But a bastard who cheated on 2 of his 3 wives, one of them very ill? Yeah, don't let us 'devil spawn' do it, but sure, he's wonderful. Fuck him.
