Fox News chief Roger Ailes seems like the kind of guy you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. He seems to have a very specific idea of what he wants to see on the conservative, incredibly unfair and unbalanced cable news channel, and if you end up going against that idea, well, you better watch your back. And the latest victim of his ire is none other than one-time Fox darling Sarah Palin.
She's reportedly in trouble with Ailes for making her ridiculous announcement about not running for the presidency on Mark Levin's conservative radio talk show ... as opposed to Fox, because she was annoyed that the network's been cozying up to Karl Rove, whom she despises. Ailes supposedly vented to Fox's executive vice-president, Bill Shine, "I paid her for two years to make this announcement on my network!" Uh ... meaning he hired her to be a pundit and assumed that meant she'd make this BS announcement on Fox? STUPID!
If Palin wasn't contractually obligated to Fox to make her announcement on the network, then it's Ailes' oversight and problem. He has no one to blame but himself. I would never in a million years think I'd be defending Palin for much of anything, but in this case, she was obviously right to make her announcement anywhere she liked -- for whatever reason. Even though her rationale does sound like that of a whiny, jealous child ("Ewww, my friends wanna be friends with that mean guy?! I'm gonna go play somewhere else, hrrrmph!").
But Palin isn't the only one acting like a big baby. Ailes supposedly considered pulling her off the air entirely until her $1 million annual contract expires in 2013. Oh yeah, he'd just flush that money down the toilet, because he's annoyed with something she did that's now water under the bridge. So crazy, right? Hopefully, he's reconsidered a rash move like that, because punishing Palin at this point is just beyond insane. Ailes needs to consider this a lesson for the future to lock down a chicken before it's hatched!
Do you think Palin deserved to be scolded for making her announcement off of Fox?

Old Roger should know how Palin gets around since he’s had her in pocket so long and contributed to and paid for her obscene rhetoric. She sells herself to the highest bidder and that should come as no surprise. I don’t think she has anything to worry about anyhow if he lets her go. Palin looks sell what comes out of her mouth and the proof is evident in these pictures showing just how nasty she’ll get for the cash at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/06/ecstasy-of-sarah-palin_15.html
