Baby Lisa Irwin Of all the disturbing twists so far in the case of missing 10-month-old baby Lisa Irwin, today's news is the most heart-sickening yet (and that's saying a lot). After nine days of silence, Baby Lisa's mother Deborah Bradley is talking again, but the story she's telling now is very different from her first account of what happened the night her daughter disappeared.
Originally, Bradley told police that the last time she checked on her sleeping daughter was at 10:30 p.m. In her announcement on the Today show this morning, Bradley admitted that the last time she saw her daughter was around 6:40 p.m., nearly four hours earlier. Oh, and by the way, she happened to be drunk that night.
It's all sounding strangely familiar, isn't it? Sort of similar to another mother's ever-changing account of when she last saw her missing daughter. Another mother who swore she didn't know what happened to her child.
Guilty or innocent, you'd think Bradley would have learned from Casey Anthony that hiding or fabricating any details regarding your own "missing" child is a huge mistake. Nothing makes a parent look more like a potential suspect. We now know for a fact that Bradley is capable of lying, convincingly. Lying about elements so crucial to the case that, had the police known the truth earlier, they might have launched a completely different investigation.
Of course our next question is going to be: What else is she capable of lying about?
I'm assuming Deborah Bradley is offering an alternate version of the night's events as a sort of pre-emptive strike because of the recently-surfaced surveillance video showing Bradley and her brother buying boxed wine and baby supplies at a store around 5 p.m. Perhaps she thinks owning up to being intoxicated now is better than waiting until after somebody accuses her of committing a horrible drunk-on-boxed-wine crime.
Unfortunately, she's wrong.
With the world now forced to make comparisons between the two, Deborah Bradley just planted herself firmly in Casey Anthony territory.
In the meantime, we can only hope that little Lisa Irwin isn't in Caylee Anthony territory.
Why do you think Deborah Bradley changed her story?

First of all, after working for law enforcment for more than 10 years, believe me, the police knew she was lying to begin with. But they can only go on the information they're provided. Even though they knew she was lying, they could only do their job and continue to investigate and look for this poor baby girl. I am not above having a drink now and then or even having a few too many, but when I indulge myself to that extent, I'm not taking care of my daughter at that particular point in time. She has grandparents and aunts and uncles to spend time with, so I can enjoy myself without having to worry about where she is or how she's doing. But I contend that some people just aren't fit to be parents and, sadly, this woman appears to be one of those kind of people.
1st, I think being drunk when you are the responsible party for a child is plain wrong! There is no other way to look at it! If you wanna drink to get tipsy/drunk, hire a babysitter, or hand your child to grandparents! Something other than keeping the child under your wing when you are no longer capable in beinf responsible for the child. Things happen, what if the child found something, put it in their mouth and started to choke? What good are to the child if you are drunk off your butt?! 2nd, I see both sides the "oops she lied." She may have been embarassed, she may have been trying to cover something, but honestly, that is NOT what's important here. I hate to see children get abducted and everyone is so busy pointing fingers, they miss what is REALLY important:FINDING THE CHILD!!!! Find the baby, then place blame! The longer people waste saying oh she is giulty, she is lying, she did this, is more time people could be spending on finding the baby and bringing the baby home! Regardless, I hope they find this little child, alive. =( It's too sad to see children taken before their time =(
I thought it was fishy the first time I heard the story..drunk parents do hurt their kids..The reason she thinks nothing is wrong with that is that she is an alcoholic and is surrounded by her type..She knows what happened to the baby, and her other kids might to....what a shame!! It's so sad to see the abuse kids fall into with parents who see nothing wrong with drinking..there is nothing wrong with it. If you know your limit! What a shame..
Sorry to say but something really isn't right with that woman. I am really startng to think that she did do something with that baby..
The baby is most likely deceased IMO. What mother does not tip-toe up to the crib to take a peak at their baby from 6:40pm to dawn? Still, comparing her to Casey Anthony is just an attempt to add more outrage for the nation to feed of off.
I don't know what happened and neither do the authorities at this point.
Something from the beginning had me doubting her. I don't know if it was watching her cry on television, which seemed a bit fake, not sure why though. I understand not remembering certain things, but come on...she was drunk. Maybe she didn't want to look like a bad mother, but honestly, it all makes her look even worse now, whether guilty of hurting her child or not becaue she decided to hide her bad decisions. Guess someone didn't teach her its not okay to lie...just causes more problems in the end when they find out the truth. (And I tell that to my 6 y/o-fess up now, cuz it makes it worse when I find what really happened.)
I have been watching that story off and on for a while, but I am not convinced that she did not have something to do with her daughter's abduction. The story about Anthony is similar but not. You see this mother crying and the other mother did not seem to cry so much. I don't know for sure if it is true or not. The other part that I don't like about this story is how she was drunk and then seem to go to bed instead on checking on her daughter. It is sad.
