Sarah Palin Will Use Scathing Biography to Get Your Sympathy

10

Sarah PalinSome juuuicy details from Joe McGinniss' hotly-anticipated Sarah Palin biography have leaked today -- via The National Enquirer; thanks, guys! -- and holy caribou crap is Mrs. Palin gonna have some 'splainin' to do to her right-wing wingnuts.

Just to wet your beak a bit, here are a couple of nuggets from the book:

  • She's snorted drugs -- hard drugs, like cocaine -- off of an oil drum.
  • She has a "fetish" for HBMs (hot black men).
  • She's repeatedly cheated on husband, Todd

Pretty intense, huh? Wait 'til you get a load of the rest of the goss.

There's also the claim that the former governor of Alaska had a fling with former NBA star Glen Rice. I'm kind of thinking this accusation is true since he confirmed it for himself and all. Also, an excerpt of the book quotes a friend of Sarah's saying Sarah had "hauled his [Rice's] ass down. I remember Sarah feeling pretty good that she'd been with a black basketball star."

Then another rumor (truth?) states that Sarah like-a the ganj in college. She smoked pot. I think this one is true also, but really, who cares? Isn't that what college is for?

And the last of the leaked info says that Sarah is a terrible mother to her children. A source close to the book said: "The book portrays Sarah as a bad mom and, in essence, abandoning her kids. McGinniss quotes friends as saying that when Todd wasn't there, busy Sarah would let the kids fend for themselves, and writes that daughters Bristol and Willow's meals often consisted of 'burnt' pots of Kraft mac and cheese made on the stove." Yikes. Oh, and let's not forget about how she put them all on reality TV.

So, do I think all these wild rumors are true? Meh, not sure. The snorting cocaine off of an oil drum seems a little dicey. But I definitely believe some of these are factual. And you know what else I believe? That Palin will turn this whole mess into one giant pity party/I'm-the-victim crusade.

I'm not saying this biography is right, but I am saying that it seems like every time Sarah gets attacked in the media or does something dumb, she doesn't fight back with intelligence, she doesn't keep quiet, she (or others) gets all, "Woe is me." And it actually sort of works. On some.

Some examples? Her Katie Couric interview, her having to speak without a teleprompter, her photo with Henry Kissinger, her completely twisting a joke by David Letterman -- whose job is to make jokes about people -- to make it seem like he was a sick pervert. She's a media-mastermind. And it's getting kind of old.

So, we'll see what happens after the biography starts making its rounds. My guess is the pity party will commence. If it doesn't, well, I may just have a little bit of respect for Mrs. Palin.

What do you think about this biography?

Well, "Ewww", that's a pretty racist, misogynistic view you've got there. "...like most white women these days are bottom feeders and pretty much scrape the bottom of the barrel for attention." Why don't you crawl back into your your nasty little troll-hole where you came from?

Meanwhile... as to this book. Let's see, the last unauthorized biography of a currently living celeb/politician that I read was.... none. I tend to dismiss them as the drivel they are.

Well we already know some of the accusations are true, stuff about her being a lousy mother for example. We know she's a clueless fraud. I don't see why anybody would need more than that honestly.

Right Ponychaser..... you'll dismiss this one as easily as you'll dismiss one written about democrats whom the tea party or the republican party loves slandering.

About the book, if it has sources, then it has sufficient evidence to go to trial. And that is serious enough to take seriously.

meh... who cares.  I think she's already shown her smarts (or lack thereof), and just feeds off the publicity.

Fancy... Fancy-Schmancy

Sarah Palin has two responses to anything:

1) I meant to do that.

2) You're mean.

We will probably see a mix of these with #2 coming in a little stronger.

trutruth, yes. I would - and have - dismiss something like this written about someone on the Dem side, as well. Case in point: there are several books out about Obama, claiming to expose his "dirty secrets". Perhaps some of them are true as well, but I havechosen to judge him by his own actions and not by the writings of someone who may or may not have an axe to grind against him.

So well said, and not just in the case of Obama (who has an ASTONISHING number not positive tell-alls available for mindless reading).  Any time someone dishes about someone else for money, you can assume there's more lies, exaggeration and assumption that there are facts.  If that's the stuff you want to use to form your opinions, that's a reflection of your standards, not anyone else's.

I just realized... this is the guy who just "happened" to rent the house next door to the Palins, and then got all whiny when they built a fence so he couldn't sit and watch them. There's some integrity for you. Yeah, not gonna be reading this one. Sorry.
