6 Best Michele Bachmann Campaign Theme Songs

When is Michele Bachmann going to stop getting in her own way? Yesterday she was aligning herself with a serial killer. Today, the presidential candidate has received a cease and desist letter from liberal-leaning rocker Tom Petty for trying to adopt his song "American Girl" as the theme of her race to 2012.

Google. Google. Google! It would have saved her from picking a liberal rocker (Petty once told Dubya he couldn't use his music either), but it would also provide her with better alternatives. There's a whole pile of theme songs out there with her name all over them. But since she's had a tough week, what with calling John Quincy Adams a founding father when he was just 9, and that whole serial killer snafu, we'll give her a break. Here's a whole pile of new Michele Bachmann campaign-ready theme songs, all in one place:

"Don't Know Nothing" by Maroon 5 -- To be played as her entrance music when she finally agrees to teenager Amy Myers' American history/civics challenge.

"American Idiot" by Green Day -- Our advice to Michele, listen to the lyrics -- "Don't wanna be an American idiot. One nation controlled by the media." Now, step away from Fox News. Step awaaaaaaay.

"Ignorance" by Paramore -- What was that she said about Lexington and Concord being in New Hampshire? Playing this song will tell the people, "Oh never mind that I don't actually prep for my appearances! Elect me president!"

"Blah, Blah, Blah" by Ke$ha -- Why bother talking when Ke$ha can do it for her?

"For Your Entertainment" by Adam Lambert -- That's what this whole campaign is, right? Please, just nod that puppet head and tell us that's all it is.

"Loser of the Year" by Simple Plan -- Everyone loves an underdog, right? But Romney remains atop the polls right now. You can breathe out now, America.

I see that you had my comment removed. So noone can call you nasty, but you can call others names and degrade them, because you dont agree with them. I am glad that Tom Petty asked her not to use her song, his music sucks and he is nothing but a drug addict woman abuser anyway. I guess this is what we are going to expect from theStir bloggers throughout the whole election, nothing but nasty vile blogs about Republican candidates, because they cannot debate them or talk about their beliefs without attacking them

Seriously, who would consider voting for someone who doesn't have a basic understanding of the laws in this country?! It's called copyright infringement, um duh. Reminds me when Reagan used Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" for his presidential campaign without permission. Of course, Bruce thought it was funny and left it alone - since the song lyrics actually are about how shitty Americans can be, as when the soldiers returned home from Vietnam. But of course the Repubs only latched onto the chorus of "Born in the USA" and thought it was patriotic. Asinine. Yes, this lady is a joke. Really too bad she is detracting from the The Reich's (oops Freudian slip, The Right's) more promising candidates. Loved the song list. In addition, how about "Stupid Girl" by Garbage and "Bitch is Back" by Elton John.

Can you just tell me why it is when you don't agree with someone you find it okay to write crap like this? What ever happened to a straightforward conversation? This kind of stuff reminds me of jr high. Whatever happened to a good old debate while keeping every one's dignity intact? If you don't like her, Palin or any other repub, that's really okay but why do you have to resort to 7th grade tactics?

Should we find all Obama's flubs or faux pas (there really are quite a few of them)? Or start going down the dem's totem pole? FDR, Kennedy, Clinton? Start where you'd like. Come on. Keep this about issues and not parties. This is what's wrong with our country right now. Smarten up people. Do you really think this name calling is okay? Seriously? If so, it's time to go back to kindergarten and learn name calling isn't nice.
