Yesterday, thousands of bikers descended upon Washington, D.C., for the annual Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally. The rally is an annual demonstration that was started in 1987 to bring attention to the plight of prisoners of war and to those service people missing in action. Among the riders? Sarah Palin. Decked out in a black jacket, big shades, and a Harley-Davidson helmet the Mama Grizzly transformed herself into a Motorcyle Mama for the day to join them in the cause.
Palin was joined at the rally by her husband Todd (forever riding the metaphorical sidecar) and her two daughters, Bristol and Piper. Sarah rode on the back of one motorcyle, Bristol rode on the back of another, and Todd drove his own bike with Piper on the back.
That's right. Sarah Palin let her 10-year-old daughter Piper Palin on a motorcycle.
Are you kidding me?
Motorcycles can be fun and exhilarating to ride -- I've done it. But they can also be dangerous and are known for their ability to kill and maim, even the most skilled riders. A motorcycle is no place for a 10-year-old. It makes no difference that Piper was wearing a helmet, that the bike may have been "going slow," and that she wasn't the one driving it. She's way too young to be introduced to such a dangerous activity.
Once again Sarah Palin put her own PR in front of her her children's needs and safety. But that's not so surprising. After all, don't mama grizzlies eat their young?
Do you think kids should go on motorcyles?

I see no problem with a 10 year old riding a motorcycle. As long as she is tall enough and her helmet fits properly.
sarah palin is a moron, but this article is ridiculous and screams "HELICOPTER MOM!"
WTH REALLY? THAT was what she did wrong!? BAHAHA This article is asinine and it STARTS with the sentence Palin was joined at the rally by her husband Todd (forever riding the metaphorical sidecar) and her two daughters, Bristol and Piper. REALLY? Would you and DO you say the SAME thing about Michelle Obama?? I am thinking not. How sexist of you! But back to your OP That child is safely secured on the back of a motorcycle, wearing ALL the necessary safety equipment. I see nothing wrong.....except an author so entrenched in her own dislike that she is searching for something....anything.....to make her dislike for Sarah Palin known!
My brothers took me for rides on their motorcycles when I was SIX. There are kids all over this country who ride their own motorcycles. They ride their own horses at flat-out runs, jumping large hurdles. They even drive dune buggies, and race them. And they all live to tell the tale.
Honestly, you will trash Palin for anything, won't you? Tell me, if they hadn't let Piper ride, would you have criticized Palin's choice of nail polish? And where should Todd Palin be, other than, "in the metaphorical sidecar"? Would you ever have said that about Hillary Clinton? Michelle Obama? Exactly where is the spouse of a candidate (or potential candidate) be? If he was at home working, you'd be trashing them because Todd obviously didn't support his wife, and she was out doing whatever she wanted, and she's a horrible wife and mother.
It's obvious the woman can do nothing right in the eyes of the ladies of The Stir. So why don't you all take your Mama's advice and, "if you can't say something nice about a person, don't say anything at all."
I am not a fan of her, but I don't see anything wrong with a properly attired ten year old riding with their father around the block or slowly down a road. I used to ride long distances with my father on his bike at a young age.
This article is petty, her child was safe and you arew just grasping for something to bash her on.
