You know, I'm starting to think Kate Middleton really hit the jackpot when she married Prince William. Never mind the fact that she got to have the wedding of the century, now she gets to have the honeymoon of the century! And she doesn't even know where she's going. Hot dog!
Apparently, in the next few weeks, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, will depart for a 10-day vacay in a locale somewhere in the Indian Ocean. Where are they going? Our guess is as good as hers, because evidently it's a surprise (or an attempt to keep the paparazzi away). All we -- and I guess she, now that she's read this post -- know is that they're staying somewhere that's $6,600 a night. And the amenities are to die for!
According to the Daily Mail, William is taking Kate somewhere with “luxury villas, white sandy beaches, a butler on hand in every villa, a personal chef, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and a sanctuary for sea turtles." WHAT! Can I come? No, you're right, I'm sorry. You guys need it more than I do. You need a vacation from ... vacationing.
You know, to be totally honest, I never really got the whole princess thing. When I was little I didn't put on a sparkly tiara, carry a wand, and hope for the best. I was more of a Debbie Gibson and Madonna kind of girl. That was who I wanted to be when I grew up.
But, I gotta tell you, after seeing the Royal Wedding, not hearing from Debbie Gibson for 20 years, and now hearing about this insane honeymoon, I'm kind of seeing the appeal. I mean, how great are Kate and William's lives? They're young, beautiful, in love; they get to live in a palace and whisk off to remote islands. That seems pretty romantic and unbelievable to me. I think my husband and I could get used to that. I definitely could.
Whatever, though. I guess if you're in love with your partner, that's all you really need, right? It'll see us through the hard times, the dark -- blah, blah, blah, I want to be a princess right now!!! Wahhh!
What do you think about this fantastic-sounding honeymoon? Where did you go on yours?
