First Day of Spring Is Here! Hello, Margarita

flowersIt's the first day of spring! Here in the Northeast it's raining and cold, and I hear snow is in the forecast for later this week (boo), but no matter -- the spring equinox, or vernal equinox, has officially come and gone, ushering us into a new, warmer season. The clock struck "spring" on Sunday night at 7:21 p.m. EST and now we in the Northern hemisphere can officially get out our sunglasses and shorts, and those in the Southern hemisphere can get out their gloves and hats. (Sorry, Australia!)

I've lived on the east coast my entire life and love every change in season, but winter to spring feels especially rewarding every year. I believe New Year's should be celebrated on March 20 -- that's how transformative this time of year is for a lot of us ready to get out of the cold and into the new!

Without further ado, let's say "good-bye" to these things from winter, and "hello" to these things in spring.
