Brett Favre is apologizing to his Vikings teammates for the distraction of his alleged penis pictures scandal in the wake of the team's loss to the Jets, but the one who deserves the apology is Jenn Sterger.
First up: it's time for the media to hand out a mea culpa.
Oh how quickly they've forgotten Ines Sainz.
Remember the reporter at the Jets game who was slut-shamed for daring to have sexy photos of herself taken? And still expected to be treated like a professional in the locker room?
Sterger was working as a gameday host for the Jets when Favre allegedly began his harassment. So how does the media represent her? A taste:
- From Fox31: "Favre allegedly sent the messages to Jenn Sterger, a Maxim and Playboy model, while they both worked for the New York Jets."
- From Ravayu: "Jenn Sterger, a Maxim and Playboy model, has not actually accused him of sending the inappropriate pictures via text message."
- From the San Diego Entertainer Magazine: "Brett Favre, the all-star quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, has recently been alleged of acts of sexual harassment towards Jenn Sterger, sideline reporter and former Playboy model."
Get it? She's sexy.
And she's been getting sexts sent to her cell phone from a famous football player.
So famous that he's going to be reported on. And read about.
Even if he's sexting an elephant, Favre is going to attract attention. They'll write about if he farts in the State of Wisconsin.
But the insinuation is clear: Sterger has posed nude, so she's open to being sexually harassed. Whose reputation is getting slammed here?
It's pretty easy to come up with a description of Sterger without once making reference to her sexual background. Just check her own website:
Jennifer Sterger is an actress, model, writer, and television host. Her most recent film, Don't Fade Away, debuted at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. As a model, Jennifer has appeared in several major campaigns, including her role as the only female ambassador for Dr. Pepper in both the US and International markets.
Sterger is a victim here. Let's remember that.

I'm sorry, Pale Horse... was that English? Because I don't understand a word of it.
I really don't like the whole "blame the victim" attitude that permeates alot of discussions in this country but c'mon. Someone makes their living selling themselves as a sexual being and then gets mad when someone sends her sexual pictures of himself? I mean, if you are famous for modeling in Playboy and Maxim, you can't really get mad that somebody doesn't text you to ask your opinion of the political situation in the Middle East, you know? I don't believe that any woman ever deserves to be sexually harassed, but the definition of harrassment is *unwanted* sexual attention--if you don't want sexual attention, keep your damn clothes on and don't take them off just to jumpstart your "career"....
If he got shot down why did the voice mail say "So, some garbage can, huh, so that’s what you think that I think of you."? Please, this was an affair back in 2008, he didn't want to waste time going back to NY to bang her, she felt "betrayed" and so she sent the photos and the voice messages to her friend, who then leaked it. She hasn't even said she was filing a harassment suit.
He's scum for cheating on his wife CONSTANTLY, and shes trash for banging a married man.
I would like to know what is wrong with stating what she is most famous for? She is famous because of Playboy... not some no name film that no one has heard of, or mention her writing when I can't tell you wtf she has written! She is KNOWN for being a Playboy and Maxim Model. If she didn't want to be referenced as that she shouldn't have posed for those magazines.
He is not a hero or a saint. He plays a game for obscene amounts of money and I really don't know what is more disgusting, him being a huge pervert or the blind defense of him by his fans. He is a husband, a father and grandfather and this is what he does in his spare time. So what if this woman posed for money? As much as I would love for women to stop objectifying themselves this way, it is a free country and she is an adult. Her being in Playboy does not make her fair game for harassment by a dirty old man who thinks having sex with anyone he wants is his due. I cannot believe the double standard displayed by women here. He has repeatedly shown his true colors but since he chose to harass a woman who posed in Playboy it's all her fault. Give me a break. I doubt he would be so cavalier if someone was sending his daughter pictures of their penis. Or maybe he would. He doesn't seem to have much in the way of morals.
wildflowers, you know she refuses to file a complaint or even speak to NFL investigators about it, right? If he treated her sooo poorly and she was really harassed, why isn't she following through to see something done about it? I think she just did it for the media attention and to further her career. She's asking for sexual attention, how can she claim it's unwanted?
