Christine O'Donnell Witchcraft Casts Spell of Doom for Republicans

Christine O'DonnellFor a Senate race from the smallest state, Republican candidate Christine O'Donnell, is certainly making a big name for herself ... and a strange one at that.

The footage from her anti-masturbation group, S.A.L.T. (Savior’s Alliance For Lifting the Truth) was bizarre enough. But -- the virtues of vibrators aside -- at least there's a faction of people who agree with that extremely conservative (extremely repressed) interpretation of The Bible. She still may have had a chance at garnering some votes.

But that chance was blown to bits by Bill Maher this weekend when he showed footage of O'Donnell talking about how she dabbled in witchcraft in the past.

One of her first dates occurred around midnight ...  at a blood-splattered "satanic" altar. For real.

Check out what she had to say ... in her own words:

Hear that? That's the sound of any of those conservative Christians who may have supported her, running away screaming in horror to grab their crucifixes.

Will anyone really vote for this woman now? How many conservative witches who visit satanic alters do you know?

After skipping a host of scheduled media appearances this weekend --even Fox News -- O'Donnell responded to the witchcraft news at a GOP picnic in Delaware.

"How many of you didn't hang out with questionable folks in high school?" she said. "There's been no witchcraft since. If there was, Karl Rove would be a supporter now."

Somehow, I don't think conservative Republicans put witches in just the "questionable" category.

Who knows, maybe she'll garner a few votes from the liberal, witch-defending crowd. Anything is possible in this campaign.

What's even more disturbing/intriguing is that Maher says he has more dirt on O'Donnell.

"It's like a hostage crisis," he said. "Every week you don't show up, I'm going to throw another body out."
What else could there possibly be?

Do you think anyone will vote for Christine O'Donnell?
