Another day, another group of Muslims trying to ruin America.
Their target? Six Flags.
Because when in doubt, start at an amusement park. Bring your kids! Get them wet on the log flume! Pose for pictures with Bugs Bunny! The terrorists will win!
Come to think of it, if they could get rid of that dancing bald guy, they might be doing a real service to America.
But don't tell the Tea Party.
They're up in arms about Six Flags Muslim Day, a tradition that technically pre-dates September 11, 2001.
In a blog on the Tea Party website, member Annie Hamilton speaks for the boycott of the amusement park chain:
"First, Islam is NOT a religion, it is an ideology -- the religious portion only encompasses 11% (the qur'an) the rest is the Sira and Hadith and the closest parallel to Islam is the Ku Klux Klan -- if that is Six Flag's idea of 'appropriate' then by all means, hold your day on September 12th but don't plan on expanding any time soon because not only will we ensure that you don't grow, we'll make sure that your parks become a thing of the past."
"STOP placating them -- in addition, there is no such thing as a moderate muslim, regardless of what you've heard -- from the mouth of the son of a well known Imam. Islam is as Islam does. And Regardless of what you might think, there is no such thing of a 'mild' muslim, even the 'quiet' ones who live on the street corner, drive the BMW and work in the dr's office...they go to mosque, satisfy the pillars, pray, etc...and the money they are giving, that is funding terror.
"it is funding terror -- and by your silence, YOU are funding terror. YOU are funding terror."
How accepting park admission fees is "funding terror," Hamilton can't explain. If anything, it would seem a good old-fashioned American company (Six Flags is a publicly traded corporation headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and New York City) is taking money from Muslims.
Nor does she bother with this little fact: Started in 2000, the Muslim Day at Six Flags is organized not by the parks but by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).
Yes, it was started in 2000.
A year BEFORE the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
And according to the ICNA, the chief organizer, Tariq Amanullah, who worked on the 96th floor of WTC, Tower 2, passed away.
Amanullah apparently didn't have enough prior knowledge of the impending attacks to save his own life, but the Tea Party is gauging he planned this whole thing to co-opt the weekend and ruin the nation's extensive mourning (because you have something planned for that weekend, right?).
Maybe. Or maybe it's just in line with the celebration of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting that happens to end on September 10 this year?
The Six Flags Facebook site has been taken over by boycott demands, where good 'mericans are showing American values such as "go back to the country in which you were born and be tolerated there."
While Lady Liberty shakes in her robes, there's good news for the folks who are scared the Muslims will ruin Six Flags: You can get there first. Christian Family Day at Six Flags is August 14.
Just leave some water in the log flume, will you?
