Joran van der Sloot has confessed to killing Stephany Flores Ramirez in Peru.

According to an article on CNN, "[He] could be formally charged as early as Tuesday in the killing of Stephany Flores Ramirez."

Peruvian authorities said van der Sloot confessed to murder late Monday. He will likely be held at one of three maximum security prisons -- Castro Castro, Piedras Gordas, or Lurigancho.

The van der Sloot case has drawn international attention because of the connection with the Natalee Holloway case in Aruba.

Holloway was the 18-year-old American girl who disappeared during a vacation to Aruba in 2005. Van der Sloot was a suspect, though he was never charged.

Van der Sloot could face up to 35 years in prison. There is no death penalty in Peru.

What do you think of the confession?
