"It was a worse impact than a car crash," Alicia Eason, a tourist from Tennessee, told NewYorkDailyNews.com. "It felt like an earthquake. People were tossed everywhere."
Fortunately, the injuries weren't extensive, and it appears that it was just an accident. In 2003, 11 people were killed and about 60 injured when a ferry crashed into the same dock.
I'm sure many of those aboard feared worse when it happened, especially since it was revealed this week that the Staten Island Ferry was a potential target for terrorist Faisal Shahzad, who was arrested in the recent Times Square terror incident.
