No, I do not like this weird, new home trend one bit. I keep seeing fun little items of furniture that are supposed to do two things at once, and you know what I think? I think these multitasking meubles (that’s French for furniture -- I'm so fancy!) are le bullcrap. What’s the saying? Jack of all trades, master of none?
Maybe it’s because my mom instilled in me a bias against this sort of thing. I remember when TV-VCRs came out, she said, “No way are we getting one of those. Your VCR breaks, and you don’t have a TV. Your TV breaks, and you have to replace the VCR. I’m not falling for that! That's how they get you!”
My mom: nobody’s fool. But where’s the line? After all, dining tables with extensions = good, right? Well, here. I’ve found my cut-off with these pieces. They may be cute, but I’m not falling for them and their multitasking promises.

Oh man! This single guy and his teeny apartment, which he designed to work like a Murphy bed (from the kitchen to the bedroom to the deck!), are a total inspiration. Would we want to live in a tiny space that required us to fold out every household item when we needed it? That would be a no. But can we steal some usable tips from his obsessive, adorable project -- ones that create room in our cramped abodes without breaking the bank?
If you think you've seen it all on Hoarders, think again. A non-celebrity hoarder just proved that those people who go on television are simply amateurs. Disgusting amateurs, but they've got nothing on Gladys Bergmeier of St. Louis, Missouri, who died in February before she could enjoy the attention her crazy hoarding would bring. After her death, a relative with the unfortunate job of cleaning out Bergmeier's home stumbled upon a pretty
At first glance your home seems pretty clutter-free, but you're hiding a deep dark secret, aren't you? You don't want anyone to know, but it's out of control, and you fear, at any moment, it might tumble like a stack of skeletons from your closet. Or that one drawer. Or out from under the bed. And your most embarrassing clutter offense will be out in the open for the world to see!

Full confession: I’ve bought Lego sets just for myself. Sometimes they have those little specialized themed ones -- I remember a teeny torture chamber, but I can’t find a record of it online, so maybe I dreamed it -- and I can’t resist. Putting them together satisfies my IKEA jones, but with lower stakes.
