Sigh. I know I really need to take a deep breath and settle down and appreciate my home for what it is, but I just can't seem to get the fantasy of moving out of my head. Ok, so not the physical aspect of moving -- but the finding a different house in a different town part sounds so appealing and fun.

We've been in our current home for six years, and one of the reasons we chose it is because it was brand spanking new when we bought it. (In this photo, it wasn't even quite done yet, hence the port-a-potty to the left of the driveway.)

It has all the bells and whistles and is energy efficient and all that good stuff that most new houses are, but there's something it's noticeably lacking -- hence my desire to pick up and move again.

When you put your house up for sale, you put a certain amount of trust in your real estate agent. You trust he'll get you a fair price. You trust he won't share any of your personal information. And you trust that he won't steal the lady of the house's clothes. Because that's uber creepy. But nonetheless, these things happen. Yep, even the last. A 60-year-old real estate agent named Stephen Brumme has just been accused of stealing women's clothing from a house for sale in Arlington, Virginia. And the whole weird thing's been caught on video. Dude just waltzes into the master bedroom, opens some dresser drawers, and goes to town. It ... ugh, just gives you the willies. And it'll make you question every real estate agent who's ever alone in your house.

Those ch-ch-changes keep on coming for Mr. Tom Cruise! His latest move was an actual move -- out of the East Village in NYC. The 50-year-old star just sold his 2,200 square feet condo in the celeb-filled American Felt building -- one of his first homes -- for a reported $3 million to an unknown buyer. Why? Cruise hasn't given a reason for the sale, but considering he spent time in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with at least 2 of his ex-wives (Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes), I'm guessing too many bad memories might have something to do with his decision.

At least the new resident won't have to worry about being haunted by the Ghosts of Tom Cruise's Marriages Past. But what about all the other things Cruise might leave behind? No way I'd drop $3 million bucks on his old digs. Here are a few of the reasons why:

But how about a $3 million mansion right on the water? Now we're talking! But most of us don't have a few million to spare. But don't let that stop you! 23-year-old Andre Barbosa certainly didn't. When he found an empty stucco mansion in Boca Raton, FL, he moved right in. Never mind that it didn't belong to him. He knew how to get around that. A smarter drifter you will never find.

Well, it looks like Taylor Swift has finally closed the deal on the $4.8 million Cape Cod mansion she was originally said to have purchased this past summer -- when she was head-over-heels in love with (then) boyfriend, Conor Kennedy.

Because she's such a nice gal, and because Conor is still a teenager (!), it was probably kind of frowned upon for her to shack up with him at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport, so it only makes sense that she went ahead and picked up her own pad right across the street.

But since the deal took so long to finalize, even though the house is now reportedly Taylor's -- what the heck is she supposed to do when she stays there now that she and Conor are no longer an item?

Be careful what you post on Craigslist. And be sure you're very, very explicit about exactly what it is you're offering, or you could wind up like one poor Georgia family.

Facing foreclosure on their home of 20 years, Pam Hobbs and her son lost even more when a yard sale posting on Craigslist gave people the impression that it wasn't just the furniture in the driveway they were giving away for free. Folks were welcome to come into their home and take anything -- and everything -- they could get their hands on. Total. Chaos. 

Well, shut my mouth, Britney Spears just purchased a new L.A. mansion to the tune of $8.5 million, and -- believe it or not, y'all -- it's pretty darn tasteful. Actually, scratch tasteful -- because this house is nothing short of exquisite.

The home is located in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood, and has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms in a whopping 8,456 square feet. And it doesn't sound like Britney and her boys will have to worry about having ample privacy in this place, because it's in the swanky gated community of Sherwood Country Club.
