His & Hers Chairs a la Bella & EdwardHow many of you Twilight Saga fans read the books and then promptly fantasized about moving into the Cullen family's modern home set in the deep green forest? Well, so did two homeowners Whitney and Robert, and HGTV's Color Splash designer David Bromstad totally made a Twilight-inspired makeover happen for the Twi-hard couple for an upcoming episode.

Remember this baby bachelor pad I posted about? Well, it should come as no surprise that the rest of the house is equally as chic, modern, and stylish.

Owner Erin Williamson has the whole mix-and-don't-necessarily-match thing down where the space looks put-together and effortless. It's what we're all striving for, right? Take a look at more photos of the house below.

When I come across a DIY furniture project, I can't help adding up all the materials and tools and calculating the cost of making one vs. buying one already made. Sometimes, buying a finished product is easier, faster, and cheaper.

But I think these hairpin leg tables are an exception. Three items. That's all you need! A slab of wood cut to your dimensions at Home Depot, hairpin legs, and a screwdriver. Done and done. I'm so impressed with the final look of all these projects, I now want to make a table, bench, or desk for every room in my house.

I love the look of gallery walls. I think I've either created one or had one in the works for every house I've lived in. But they're a lot of work to hang! Especially if you're worried about putting misplaced holes in the walls.

That's why my ears perked up when I was watching an episode of Secrets From a Stylist and host Emily Henderson shared her foolproof way for getting the composition of frames just right. Check out her tips below.

A friend of mine got a Roomba just for the hell of it, and found it made a perfect toddler babysitter: his 3-year-old would follow the damn thing around the house, chirping, “Woomba! Woomba!” as if it were his beloved pet. Myself, I never found the things to be all that useful as a cleaning device -- by the time I finish de-cluttering the floor, I may as well vacuum the place myself. But a group of German industrial-design students saw an amazing potential in the Roomba: they attached lights to the automatically-piloted vacuum cleaners, and took long-exposure photographs of their journeys. The results? Gorgeous, Spirograph-like images of light sculptures. Here’s how they did it. Don’t you wish your housecleaning left such a cool image?

Think of the rooms in your house. What pops into your mind first? The kitchen, perhaps? Maybe the bathroom or your kid's bedroom. I bet many of you said the family room/den/great room/whatever room you and your family hang out in the most, the one with the TV and comfy couch.

Um, did anyone say living room? You know, that room other than the den, with the firmer couch (possibly wrapped in plastic) and matching wing-back chairs. Anyone? Bueller?

The National Association of Home Builders says that by 2015, what is known as the living room will be merged with another space, like the great room. I'm not surprised. Really, who needs a living room these days? Definitely not the modern mom or any kids that have chores.

I bought a large pull-down school map from eBay a few years ago, and it continues to be one of my favorite items in our home. I love how it makes a colorful impact at a fairly inexpensive price. Plus, it's been convenient for the occasional geography lesson around the dinner table.

If you'd like to incorporate maps into your decor, pull-down versions are just one option. Another idea: you could collect a variety of paper maps and use them as wallpaper, like Kimberely Renner did in her son's room.

See five more photos of maps in the home and some of my favorite resources below.

I've been thinking a lot about family portraits since it's been almost two years since our last one. I would love to get some shots while we're in France then blow them up to display in our home to personalize it a bit. Here are some interior shots I've been taking inspiration from.

This first image is of Palmer Weiss' daughter's room featured in Lonny Magazine. I love how the portraits really pop in the white frames.

Not Actual Alligator Found by SofaOh my, it's time to pray, "Please god don't ever let this happen to me." A woman in Brazil was shocked (I think shocked is possibly the biggest understatement of all time) to discover an alligator behind her sofa. Most likely she expected a few dust bunnies, maybe an old magazine or two, but an ALLIGATOR????

But wait, the best part of this story (and by best part, I totally mean the worst part) is how she discovered the five-foot gator.

Looks like Ashton Kutcher is finally getting serious about married life -- oh, just five plus years after marrying Demi Moore. Better late than never, Ashton Kutcher finally put his bachelor pad on the market. I guess he's finally given up on the dream of having a man cave to keep calling his very own.

Call me crazy, but I'm flabbergasted they're still married ... it's kind of awesome!
