Cricut Machines: Are They Worth the Money?

I keep hearing about Cricut Electronic Cutting Machines, which are apparently a crafter, scrapbooker, and paper cutter's dream machine. But wow, ranging $180-$350 plus the price of cartridges and other software and supplies, they are expensive!

I gotta know. Are these crafty cutting machines worth it?

The CafeMom group Cricut Chirpin' Mamas seem to love their Cricuts. After all, the group was formed as a place to "gush about your Cricut Machine!"

So Cricut owners or coveters, what's the big deal with these machines? What projects do you use them for? And are they worth their hefty price tag?
