DIY Fabric flower brooch
Creative mama Rachel Saldaña of Buttons Magee shares a tutorial for making an oh-so-pretty Fabric Flower Brooch.
Rachel: Every holiday I am challenged with the desire to give gifts while on an extremely tight budget. One way I have offset the costs is by making a portion of our gifts.
This quick flower brooch is a great gift when you are in need of something cute and fast. I used silk dupioni as my fabric, but you can really use almost any type of fabric as long as it isn't too thick. Also, it could be sewn onto a barrette if you would like to gift it to a child. The best part is that it requires minimal sewing, so even a novice can make this simple flower.

My mother in law would absolutely love something like this for her birthday! I'm going to be looking at some robert kaufman fabrics this weekend. http://www.spiceberrycottage.com/shop/Manufacturer/Michael-Miller.htm It will be fun to make her something she will use. Thanks for sharing!
