Just watched artist Jeff Scher's beautiful short film "Summer Retreat," which depicts in Scher's artful way the melancholy of the last drive home at the end of summer (click over to watch; and thanks, Jennifer).
Oh, the end of summer can be a little sad...
Summer is slipped (has slipped) away from us now. We are into September. School is back in session or will be soon. The days are ever so slowly getting shorter. We are losing light. We still have a little more summer heat to endure here in NorCal, but when it's gone, I will greatly miss those midday Arnold Palmers and the warm, sleeveless summer nights.
How do you say goodbye summer and hello autumn?
