My 6yo son and I have spotted rainbow clouds twice. Have you ever seen one?
According to National Geographic, these lovely rainbow clouds are actually called a circumhorizontal arc, and it's pretty rare to spot one. Of course, the ones we've seen were not this spectacular, but they were pretty nonetheless.
I'm not sure what I like spotting in nature more...rainbow clouds or shooting stars?
Have you and your kids ever spotted a rainbow cloud?

Wow!! I've never even heard of rainbow clouds...I've only seen rainbows and double rainbows. So so pretty!
This is the most beautiful thing ever!
I have never heard of them either. How pretty! I have seen a double rainbow twice and they are so pretty but this would have to be so cool to see. And I have never seen a shooting star either.
I've never heard of them either but they sure are beautiful.
I am from the Mt. Shasta area, and there is a huge wide open sky there. I've seen rainbow clouds there, and double rainbows and clouds that look like spaceships often hover over this mystic mountain, one of the three most religious mountains in the world. Also, people claim to have seen the faces of angels there and sometimes the clouds have looked like dragons and other mythological creatures. It's beautiful and old-timers can certainly predict the weather there.
Beautiful!
