Looking to get away, but aren't interested in shacking up at a Holiday Inn again? Maybe you're on the hunt for somewhere a little more adventurous and, well, quirky? Look no further. We've scoured the Internet for some of the strangest shelters we've ever seen, some with four walls, and others -- well, with services that certainly don't include turn-down service or pillow mints.

From an old shipping container to a magic school bus (yes, really), here are 14 incredible places to stay on the cheap in the US. You'll never look at traveling the same again.
