Okay, I did awhile agoâbefore I knew about the aforementioned layoff (eh em). But I just couldn't resist this pretty handmade Butterfly Celebration Wreath from Royal Buffet. I plan to keep it up year-round (and then maybe to feed it to the kids when we go broke).

Were you as bad as me? Did you buy something for yourself in the season of giving? Or maybe you bought yourself something and put your husband's name on the gift tag? Oh, honey, you shouldn't have...

I bought myself a gift, but Im a single mom so I had to buy myself a few small things or my daughter would think I wasn't good and Santa forgot me =) I bought socks and a candle from Batha nd Body...most of it free when I bought a gift for someone else...luv gettng those email coupons.
Oh yeah, Neiman Marcus take an extra 40 off of cashmere and free shipping. You bet, even my husband said go for it!
Nope. I don't think anything's wrong with it, though.
Last year was the year I bought our fake tree, the skirt, all the ornaments and lights, the star, the garland, our stockings... that was a great present for me, that will last until pieces break.
Guilty as charged. Shhh, don't tell.
I had to buy the stocking fillers for all of us, uh, I mean- Santa did!
Yep. Dh and I went to the jewlery store and I picked out the ring I wanted. DH also picked out the MP3 player that he wanted.
No, Im a single mommy but my sweetest-ever Mom got me something to take home from "santa" so I wont feel left out christmas morning. (i got Aiden's dad a gift from him but i doubt he did the same)
well sort of....I talked my dad into loaning me the extra money I needed for a new camera I wanted. It was free shipping, no sales tax and as a bonus...a telephoto lens...WHOOO HOOO Merry Christmas to me!! I thought I was gonna have to give Santa a lap dance for that one! LOL
i'm so glad "santa" is being so good to you all.
Yes, I SURE DID buy myself a gift! With an Alzheimer mother and husband, I would not get anything these days that I really needed if I did not do so! It was a creative alternative idea that the Lord gave to me a few years ago, when I noticed I was getting too discouraged at the absence of gifts I had grown accustomed to receiving from my spouse during many years of marriage.
So, each year now, I buy something a couple of months early that really cheers me and makes me feel special. I told my husband to go "buy" a certain DVD for me that was on special sale that would be my early "birthday gift." He seemed pleased to not have to feel badly that he could no longer remember what to do; he enjoys the errand part of the project to a nearby store and watching me light up when he gives it to me.
Then, I got practical and told him that the new Stainless Steel set of bowls with lids would be my Christmas gift this year...I saw them on sale a few weeks ago and knew we had to strike then to save money. Then, I enjoyed playing with them ON my birthday and it was GREAT to have more food storage help in the kitchen!
And that is how Caregivers have to entertain themselves in order to keep their spirits up for 24/7 caregiving with no other gifts coming into the home!
Merry Christmas to all of us!
