Budget-Friendly DIY Jewelry Box Makes a Modern & Merry Gift (PHOTOS)

DIY Jewelry boxIf there's one thing I’ve learned about the holidays since becoming a mom, it's that I need to keep things super simple. Whether it’s decorations, crafting ornaments, making cookies, or wrapping gifts, convenience is key, but then again so is my budget. Here’s a fast DIY project to make for your sister, BFF, niece, sister-in-law, or any other person in your life.

Best part, you can make it under $15 (especially if you have the 50 percent off coupons from all of the big-box craft stores).

Materials:

  • Wooden box (You can get these at the craft store. This is a wooden recipe box from Michaels.)
  • Decorative door pull (I picked this geometric deer head knob at Hobby Lobby. They have a whole aisle filled with decorative pulls.)
  • Craft paint
  • Paint brush
  • Painter’s tape
  • Drill
