Step 1: Place your cookie cutter on a piece of foam board topped with wax paper. Then stick your pins next to each outside corner of cookie cutter. If the cookie cutter shape curves, then place a few pins on the curve.

Step 2: Carefully remove the cookie cutter, leaving the pins in place.

Step 3: Pour some glue into a plastic cup.

Step 4: Cut a long piece of string off of your skein of yarn. (Use your best judgment of how much yarn you need based on the size of your cookie cutter. You can always add more or cut the string.)

Step 5: Place the yarn in the cup so it soaks in the glue.

Step 6: Pull the end of the yarn out of the cup and place it around the boarder of the shape first. There are some parts of the shape that you’ll want the string to go on the inside of the pins and there are some parts where you’ll want it to go on the outside of the pins. You have to play with it as you depending on your shape. Also, be sure to carefully pull the border of the shape a little taut so the cookie cutter shape can be seen. Then take the yarn and twirl and swirl it around inside of the shape. If any of the yarn feels a bit dry after you do this, simply squeeze some of your glue onto the areas directly from the bottle.

Step 7: Let the yarn dry around the pins overnight.
