  • Secluded Treehouse

    2

Set amongst vivid greenery, this three-room treehouse is located within (or really, above!) Atlanta, Georgia will run you $350/night. During your stay, get from room to room via the rope bridges and admire the antique furnishings (like the 80-year-old butterfly-filled windows).

  • Vintage Airstream Adventure

    3

This restored 1957 Airstream ($145/night) is perched on a hilltop in Malibu, CA. Per the description: "After another look at the Milky Way, you retire to the queen-size rear bed with quality linens and feather duvet -- the fresh Pacific breeze lulling you to sleep in the silence broken only by the occasional owl 'hoot' or coyote howl in the distance." Swoon.

Oh, and bonus: You get a magnificent 360 degree vista of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina, Santa Barbara Island, and the Santa Monica Mountains!

  • Luxury Dude Ranch

    4

The Resort at Paws Up is no ordinary dude ranch. Their luxury tents, set on the banks of the Blackfoor River, feature electricity, a spacious deck, ensuite bathroom, twice-daily housekeeping service, and even your own personal "camping butler!" We're not quite sure what that last one is, but we want one!

  • Gorgeous Glass Igloos

    5

Want to see the Northern Lights in style? Consider a stay in Kakslauttanen Igloo Village. The digs feature "your own toilet, beds for two people, and an additional bed, should you need it." Not much to brag about at first glance, but remember -- this is an igloo.

Want an ensuite room? Their Kelo-Glass igloos are like cozy log cabins on steroids, with a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette, and a bedroom under their staple glass roof.

  • Colorful Vintage Caravan

    6

This 1964 Kenskill camper -- and former foodtruck for Katie Cupcake -- has been restored into a $85/night caravan-for-rent. You can "pretend camp" in Oakland, CA and then take the train to nearby San Francisco -- the trip is under 30 minutes. But an even better perk is the yard full of chickens. Just imagine waking up to fresh eggs!

  • Stunning Stargazing Hotel

    7

If you want to sleep amongst the stars, where better than an "astronomic hotel?" Elqui Domos, in Chile, is just one of seven such sites around the world.

You'll stay in a geodesic dome, where the lofted bed is located beneath a detachable roof -- so you can watch the skies before falling asleep. The lodgings include "all the comfort you would need inside the room" to not be disturbed during that experience.

Each dome has a terrace, a fridge and bar, and specialized astronomy literature so that you can keep up with the cosmos. Feeling restless? Astronomy tours and nightime horse rides are also available.

  • Art Deco Safari Tent

    8

You don't have to travel back in time to go on an old-fashioned, gilded-age safari? Cottars 1920's Safari Camp is "situated in a timelessly unspoiled setting with sunset views stretching to distant horizons of the Masai Mara and the Serengeti plains covered in boundless game." Each of the 10 tents sports ensuite bathrooms. The family suites come with living rooms decked out with fireplaces. There is also a pool and spa area on-site.

  • Vintage City Camper

    9

What's more glamorous than camping without actually ... going into the woods? Have it all with this renovated 1958 Oasis vintage camper ($75/night), stationed in Chila Vista, CA. The Hawaiian-themed space has an area for outdoor barbequing and relaxing when you're not going downtown. While the camper has all of the essentials, it also boasts "the tiniest bathroom you will have ever used!" But, according to the hosts, that's what makes it so unique!

  • Fabulous Farm Stay

    10

Experience going abroad in a whole new way by glamping at Manor Farm, one of the Feather Down Farms in Gloucestershire, England.

The tents are fitted with cupboard beds (seen above), wood stoves, running water, and eggs from the communal chicken coop. There's also an animal paddock, where kids can pet small critters, and a larder, where you can buy farm-fresh products.
