Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Selling Their Home Could Be a Bad Sign

Mariah Carey Nick Cannon

Huh. Well this is a little bit odd. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon just listed their Bel Air mansion, and apparently they're hoping to make a pretty hefty profit on it.

They purchased the place for $6.975 million, and as for the new listing price? Yeah, they're asking $12.99 million. Guess the real estate market out in L.A. is faring a bit better than the rest of the country.

But here's what's really strange -- there are rumors going around that Mariah and Nick are having problems and that selling the home may be the first step in ending their marriage.

I know. So sad if it's true.

They're just such an adorable couple and have two beautiful children, and we hate to think of them going their separate ways. But if that's the case, it does kind of make sense for unloading their home to be the first step.

Even though Nick spends most of his time in L.A. for work, it sounds as though he and Mariah and the kids never fully moved into the place -- or at least they've never called it their permanent home. If things were going along famously in the marriage, you'd think Mariah would want to be living there with him.

And considering how much higher the home is listed than what they paid for it, you have to wonder why they're hopeful about making such a huge profit. Perhaps so there are greater assets to divide between the two of them?

Hmm. This one could really go either way. Stay tuned.

Do you think selling their home is a sign that Mariah and Nick are over?
