Snort. You gotta love it when people come up with insane excuses to avoid getting into trouble. Like the dude who cited grief over the death of his goldfish as a reason for paying his taxes late.
Supposedly the guy didn't want to pay a $165 penalty for filing his tax return late, so he came up with the brilliant idea of pleading depression over a dead fish.

Seriously? Did this wacko really think the nice folks in charge of collecting tax money would look at his paperwork and say, "Aww. The poor dear. How sad that his beloved goldfish passed. Let's cut him a break ..."?
I mean, you have to give the guy props for going out on a limb and giving the fish excuse a shot -- but he had to know there was no way in hell it was ever going to work.
But in the off-chance that it did ... it would've been pretty hysterical. Imagine what a great story it would be to tell people flushing your fish down the toilet actually saved you a good $165.
