Kate Middleton Reveals Her Surprising Taste in Home Decor (PHOTOS)

Love It! 6

kate middletonRemember when Kate Middleton went out shopping the other day looking oh-so-chic and casual? So much fuss over jeans and sneakers we forgot to obsess fuss discuss what was actually inside those shopping bags of hers. But what did the Duchess buy? The People need to know, and by people I mean strangers who live in a former colony across the ocean. Kate may have been feathering her nest, buying something absolutely adorable for her household. Check out Kate's reported purchases from Zara Home.

The palace will not confirm, but a source told People that Kate bought platters with tropical birds on them. Perusing the UK Zara Home site like a total weirdo with nothing better to do with my time (oh wait, no, I get paid to do this -- yay me!), I spy a platter with a cockatoo and another platter with a couple of parrots. Bingo! These must be Kate's platters.

Charming, no? What a witty choice -- colorful, whimsical, droll. So Kate! Everyone, let's each buy a set of our own and we'll all feel a little more Kate-like in our otherwise commoner lives. "Welcome to my home! May I serve you a hot pocket from my illustrious Kate Middleton parrot platter?" "Oh my, what a clever platter. What excellent taste you have. Why yes, I will have a hot pocket, thank you."

But wait, what's this we hear? One store employee says they thought they heard she was buying these platters for someone else as a gift. Oh, I am so crestfallen! Of course, you can still feel close to Kate if you buy these platters, knowing she picked them out just for you a friend. But I think I'd enjoy them a wee bit more if I knew they were being used to adorn the table of the Royal Family.

Tell me truthfully, what do you think of these platters? Would you buy them if you could?

Not even close.  They are ugly; would not complement any food unlucky enough to be placed on them.  Money and notoriety do not always equate taste.  Plus we should stick with what is good for us.

Yes I would!!!!! Classy, different and yes, whimsical. I can tell they are expensive! I'd use it with sterling silver, fire and ice roses and/or hydrangeas. I'd use pale coral or light gray napkins depending on the color choices of hydrangeas.

Interesting. If you love birds then, you would really love the gift. I would NOT buy that particular kind of gift. Guess I am too old school.

waity... waitykate

THAT is what happens when Waity Middleton, the most famous bimbo in the world, is unleashed to do "decorating". Oh, good grief. Princess Margret, who had Kensington looking like a regal, sophisticated dream, would roll over in her grave.

I read that Waity largely decorated Kensington in BEIGE {...the non-color choice of people who lack personalities and are too simple-minded to deal with color schemes...}, and even Prince Charles said it didn't look very royal. Oh but what do you expect from a person like WAity who wears beige shoes almost daily anyway ?

Oh please STOP with the waity Katie thing. Jealously isn't a nice color on anyone...love isn't about yourself, it's all about the person you love. I would do anything/WAIT for my husband forever if that's what it took to get/make my husband happy...love/marriage isn't about making yourself happy, that's selfish not love...it's about making your partner happy...Kate did what made her prince happy, gave him the time and space he needed to make him happy, it wasn't about her. Now her prince William is happy, Kate is happy and their beautiful future king, prince George is such a happy baby. So stop with the waity Katie crap. Sure hope you aren't married cause marriage isn't for everyone and your one of them, your to selfish...your one of those people who thinks a relationship/marriage is all about you being happy.
